Why does it feel like McNamara vs HR.

Give me Bledsoe.
No disrespect to anyone saying Bledsoe over Burke, but Bledsoe has been around some amazing talent throughout his Kentucky, and Clippers careers, and has not stood out until this year (when pg deprived teams saw an abundance if pg's on the clippers team, and believed they found low hanging fruit). The guy is good, but nothing about him screams amazing. His time as a starter has only rendered a 14/5/4/2. I want more from him as a starter if he is playing for the clippers (obviously I know CP3 starts for the Clipps but Bledsoe has started when CP3 was down).
I picked Burke ONLY because he will be locked up for 4 years. I don't care who get of the two because both are VAST improvements over what we have. The idea of Bledsoe and Rivers defensive guard lineup would just make me so happy.
Our offense would suffer greatly with Bledsoe and Rivers on the court at the same time, but I think he would totally kill opposing team's offenses as well.
I think I'm talking myself into Bledsoe, but he isn't "free."
Burke might be a better fit with Gordon and Davis. But this is if we believe that Gordon is part of the future. Bledsoe gives better defense and will be stronger than Burke. Bledsoe can win us games now.
Rivers isn't athletic. He isn't a pure shooter. He isn't a floor general. PG of the future? He is a friend of the family
Not trying to provoke anything here, but Bledsoe is a vastly superior athlete and an above-average defender, though he gets a little overrated in that regard. I feel Bledsoe would be significantly better than Burke, especially with the logic that if GV can get 9 assists/game anyone can,(there's the provocation) according to most posters so would we really be missing out? Bledsoe's potential is infinite, and he's just now showing his ability. Most great players come in with defense, and develop their offensive comfort zone in time. Bledsoe is also skilled in the art of throwing lobs, very much so. I see everything this team needs from a 1guard in Bledsoe, but Burke lacks in some of those areas... Not that he can't improve on it.
Rivers had the 32rd best PER among rookies this year. If you see future starter, or anything more than the guy that waves the towel in excitement I got some beachfront property in Nebraska I would like to sell you.
The Bledsoe stats I posted earlier were inflated big time. When he was first named the starter (after CP3 went down) he was blowing up the Magic,Washington, the Celtics (minus Rondo) and the Raptors. Towards the end of his time as starter people were growing tired if him. It's actually quite interesting how if you give him 26+ min you start noticing a diminishing return in play.

Not sure if that tells us he is great against 2nd teamers, or if he is only good in spurts. But no. The answer in no.
In short, give me Burke. The guy has been the man before, and has lived up to his billing.
UNO... sometimes you have to use the eye test. Rivers was showing great strides in Defense and some offense before the injury. PER fails to recognize Defense.
I'd be interested in seeing you name 31 rookies you'd rather have than Rivers, since he is #32 in PER. I still think he was the best pick for #10 at the time.
At the time he was a good pick. Heck at the time Andre Drummond was the 9th best pick in the draft. Things change, I would take Drummond over anyone but Davis now.
Could I make a list of guys I would take over Rivers? Do I have to? Last years draft was crap. That's just how bad Rivers was last year.
I like Rivers' length and wingspan, I really do. And his defense was great late in the year. But when it comes down to it, his friggin shot is just a MESS. Can he change that? Maybe.
But Burke's shot is most definitely not a mess. And he has generous wingspan for a 6' guy at 6'5".

Would be my backcoury. Calhoun is better than Burke. Watch both of the tapes on draft Express and you decide
I keep hearing about this Calhoun fellow. Sounds like a stand-up guy.
Calhoun could do Steph curry damage while opening up the inside
Why is it so hard to believe anybody would think Burke is worth gambling on. Here's a young man that has a great work ethic, comes from a solid family, and is one of the most decorated players in college history. All this in what was the consensus #1 conference.
This isn't Tim Tebow. This kid has the physical ability and skill to play the position.
Rivers isn't athletic? :hihi:
He isn't a pure shooter? Neither are DWade or LeBron or Westbrook or DRose or Tony Parker or most of the NBA superstars.
He isn't a floor general? Not yet, but he has better court vision than Vasquez, I can tell you that. He can make pocket passes that Vasquez doesn't, and he runs the PnR way better. He can get into the lane at will, and he shot over 40% from 3 in the month of Febuary before he got injured. So is he a pure shooter? Maybe not, but he was getting the job done better than most of the league in the month of Febuary.
Nevermind the fact that his growth defensively throughout the year was near miraculous. It's funny to me how people say, "no matter how much Rivers grew this season, blah blah blah." Give me a freaking break. The only goal for Rivers this season was to grow as a player. Nobody expected good numbers, and nobody expected him to take over games or lead a team. He should be a sophomore in college. Monty and Demps have BOTH said this numerous times, but nobody listens.
You people are insufferable with your blatant disregard for the fact that we drafted Rivers as a project. You want to criticize Rivers? Fine, but do it with the context that he is a rookie project.
