That's cool. However this should be address to everyone not just me.

I personally don't see the Ibaka comparison besides they both can hit a midrange jumper, and both block shots. Ibaka is a little more explosive, but doesn't have the best BBall IQ. He hops around like peter Rabbit trying to block shots and is not as good of a rebounder because of it.

Davis does not turn the ball over as much either. Davis is better than Duncan when it comes to this (but Davis has a lower usage%) while Ibaka is 3rd to the bottom amongst PFs(lower usage than Davis) that get 25 MPG. The even more interesting point is despite getting a higher usage rate than Ibaka, he's still turning it over less. Davis also takes the cake on any PER type stat as well. This is all while taking into consideration that this is Davis' first year. Davis basically walked into the league as an above average starter at the PF position.

Edit: I didn't want to cherry pick stats here. There are things I know Ibaka does better. Like i said earlier, he's the more explosive athlete and the better shot blocker. I'm also really impressed by Ibaka's growth over the past 4 years. He is no longer a liability on D.

Lots of players have the same skillset, and they turn out totally differently. How many times have people said, "Oh this is the next DRose or Kobe," etc...

Firstly, speaking only for myself, I said he has a higher ceiling than Paul. That doesn't mean he is going to reach it, but he certainly should IMO. And secondly, the problem is that you aren't giving him his just due. Watching him on the court, it's obvious how much higher his basketball I.Q. is than Ibaka's. His offensive game is WAY more developed than Ibaka's, and he really improved defensively this year in terms of rotations, not biting on fakes, etc... The kid has all the potential in the world, yet you refuse to admit it because you made a really stupid prediction during the draft, and all you really care about is sticking it to this entire board. It's very tiring...

1st you need to chill with all this stupid nonsense.

2nd It's a moot point. You say he has all the potential in the world and I say his potential is very much limited. Saying he has a better offensive game than Ibaka is completely an opinion.

Lastly everybody keep talking about not giving him his "due", but I indeed have. Some of you are giving him credit for things he's simply not doing.

His potential is very much limited? You're nothing more than a troll at this point.

The biggest point though, we're comparing a good 4th year player to a rookie who wasn't supposed to have any semblance of a offensive game outside of dunking. That's great. When Anthony reaches his 4th year how excellent will he be?

I guess all the coaches and GMs in the league are wrong because DaThrone says Davis' potential is limited. I agree he hasn't done anything to cement him as a great, but you can see the potential if you just watch games.

But what do the most talented scouts, GMs, and coaches know... Davis is already at his peak...

When you post stupid things, you should expect this sort of a response. I think your original prediction that Anthony Davis was the 7th best player in the draft and only has a ceiling of Serge Ibaka is totally and completely moronic. Now, am I calling you a moron? No. But I think your notion that Davis is Ibaka is really dumb. Am I not entitled to an opinion? Stop crying.

In just a few months time in season Anthony has developed his offensive game greatly. He is doing things as of late that he would have never been able to do early on in the season. I'll say it again, he has developed a offensive game that allows him to do things now that he would have never been able to do early in the season, and he has done all of this while playing in 61 games, practicing nearly every day, and battling injuries. So in the summer, the time a player REALLY develops different aspects to his game, what do you think will happen?

Saying he has a limited potential is just an idiotic statement.

Where in the world did you get AD's ORTG and DRTG advanced metrics? According to basketball-reference.com he is at 112 and 104, respectively. Also, Davis' WS/48 at .153 is higher than Ibaka's .134. Just to add to the mix, Davis' PER (measures offensive efficiency) is 21.5, whereas Ibaka's was 15.2. Also, Ibaka was a full year older than Davis.

I don't think those NBA.com stats are right. These kind of stats are new to NBA.com. Either they're still working to get the kinks out or they may have a different formula than BR.com.
