There is no way they don't match any offer.
The only realistic PG we have a chance at that we won't have to over pay is
T.Evans and even then I don't know if he is that much of an upgrade considering
Vazquez will only be on 2+ million next season.
If we don't get improvement from Rivers enough for him to take the starting role then we may
need to look at FA in 2014 or the draft again.
This is the very reason you pick BPA in any draft because you can't predict who will be available in FA. -

Hickson has also more flexibility than Lopez.
If Davis becomes the starting centre in 2 years, then Hickson can play either the backup to
Anthony or backup Anderson at the 4, the same as J. Smith.
Lopez can only play centre and one dimensional at that. -

He's a great rebounder who can finish around the rim, but he's a terrible defender. He's also a PF, not a C.
Given our two most valuable players are, for the time being, both nominally power forwards, we'd be pushing the envelope to throw a large deal (and he will want a large deal) at another.
If we turf Lopez, and I think it's unlikely, then we'll most likely be in the market for a legitimate center. Everything at present points to the team not being inclined to play Davis at the 5 for anything more than spot minutes.
In that case, give me Lopez for 1 year, $5 mil over Hickson for 4 years, $30 mil (ball-park) any day. -

Interesting. I thought he'd be better defensively because he is so strong. He rebounds better than most centers, but he I guess he is having more trouble than I though defensively. If this is true, I don't see us going after him.
