When i get upgraded all I think about is shrimp and grits
Went to the game. Row 11 section 103. Didn't meet the ticket rep at all.
I had 6 tickets for the package I bought so maybe they think I am a big spender (I don't know, I bought them with 2 other couples). Maybe he will call me back.
I am giving my 3 season tickets up. My seats are right next to the new bandstand they're creating so therefore my price has gone up and not down like 80% of the arena. I even told my rep that I would renew if I could get the same row or better seats for the same price I paid this year and it would be lower since they did a price drop. I haven't heard back from him since last week. I can only make it to maybe 15 games a year but I still committed to 3 FULL sets. I'm out
I'm in the exact same boat, and would renew under the same circumstances. Been a season ticket holder for six years, had every intention of renewing, now will not. Hornets absolutely taking a dump on their ticket holders unlucky enough to be near this stupid thing. I didn't ask to be in the Party Perch, they're foisting it on me. I'm just there for basketball, being in the vicinity of a bar does nothing for me, let alone a bar that is just as accessible to people in cheaper sections.
Really going to miss my season tix. Thanks a lot Hornets.
Try the other end, rotate one section over in your end... there are options.
People are going to fail to renew. Look then if you don't like the inventory now.
There are not options, unfortunately. I'm in the first row. It took me years to work my way to the first row. I'm sure I'd have to go back to the 3rd or fourth row in another section and start the process all over again. I shouldn't have to do that, I've been around awhile and put in my time for this. I realize this isn't a human rights violation or anything, but all the same, it's not right.
It is frustrating.
Keep an eye out. I picked up row 1 tickets in that end last season. Ask your rep when the inventory from nonrenewals comes open. I think mid-March.
I'm a row 1guy. I get it.
Buddy that sits next to me talked to our rep tonight, won't have any word on row 1 until after renewal deadline passes in April. She did not sound enthusiastic about our chances to stay first row. Spent more time trying to talk us into the wonders of the Party Perch. Doesn't sound good.
I realize it won't break the organization financially if some schlub in upper level end zone doesn't renew his tickets, but by the same token I don't see how it breaks the org financially to grandfather people in who are not asking for and do not want this "perk." For whatever it's worth, which I realize is virtually nothing, I'm leaving after six years frustrated and upset with the org.
I'm with IrritatedLurker. The party perch does me no good especially since I don't drink. I have 3 great seats on row 5 for my family and now I have to move or be FORCED to pay more. It's just not fair in my eyes. I even told my rep that I wouldn't mind paying the same price I paid this year and wouldn't worry about the decrease. That's what they should've done instead of FORCING fans to pay an increase for something they are creating.
Grandfathering people in and not giving them the Perch priveliges should be an option.
Good point.
Funny thing is, I'm not clear on whether there even ARE any privileges, other than being physically closer in proximity to the bar. As I understand it the bar will be open to anyone, not just those who sit in the Party Perch (not that I would use it anyway). I think the privilege is that you get to help pay for the construction and maintenance of the Party Perch by getting your season ticket prices jacked up.
That said, PelicansSaints, I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a comparable 5th row seat in one of the $504 sections. It's the first and sometimes second row that's a bear to get.
I asked my rep what's the best seats he had available and was told row 11. That made me even more mad. I'm very disgusted by them and really don't want to give up my tickets but it look like I will be forced to do so.
Wow, it's hard to believe they're selling season tickets all the way up to row 11, but good for them if true. I guess they really don't need us, but it definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Multi-year season ticket holders deserve better treatment than this.
I did the 10 game buy back and have a $453 credit so I don't want that to go to waste and I refuse to just let them have that money especially since I only made about 15 games this year. It's hard to believe they don't have any seats in available on row 5 or better. I was told that the only way I get my full buy back credit is if I renew or get a package that's the equivalent to what I paid this season. I wish I could take my $453 and tell them you know what...
Wow... I still have to talk to my rep about credit. That doesn't make any sense. There is an option (new this year) on Ticket Exchange to either apply buyback money to your credit, OR have them deposit it directly into your bank account. Which means they're open to returning money to you with it not being contingent on season ticket renewal. I, assuming I would be renewing, have been having them apply buyback sales to my credit all year. If what you're saying is true, trusting they wouldn't screw me on renewal price was a big mistake. And it would be a second screw job.
I learned quickly this year that the buyback is basically a randsom to get you to renew. They will hold that over your head and basically keep that money, regardless of whether they re-sold your tickets you sold back and therefore profit twice. It is a gimic and a racket. They also have proven to me through discussions that they do NOT value long time season ticket holders (since Day 1) and you are just one of their inventory of seat holders. This year was a real eye-opener. I honestly felt more valued as a season ticket holder in the earlier years than I do now.
I'm strongly leaning towards letting them keep the $453 and be done with them

It's only a little thing, but maybe it works.
After reading this thread my interest in season tickets went into a nose dive.
All we can do is ask. I made an ok case.
Keep us posted. I hope it works.
If not, PM me. I'm row 1 in the corner and may have an opening in our little ticket group.
I read that when it came across my twitter timeline. Thanks for your efforts 42!!! MAKE IT RIGHT PELICANS or I'm OUT
I just renewed and kept my same seats. :idoh:
Keep us posted as to whether they offer you a chance to move.
I'm not moving. I will pay the extra and keep my current seats.
