THT vs. Zion, the thick boi battle we've been waiting for for ages.

I wish those shooting fouls that get called on Hayes get called for Zion's man.
You give a rookie healthy consistent minutes and they start to show progression... I wonder why
It will never happen because there's always a degree of interpretation and the refs themselves will never admit that they overlook or miss so much, but it would be kind of fun to see someone do a ''legit fouls'' tracker, where every actual foul according to the rules was tracked somewhere.
By that logic, every game would go into the bonus about 2 minutes into each quarter and Zion would take 32 FTs a night lmao
edit: and every player in the NBA would foul out every game, but that's a different issue
I know, I was just kind of spinning off a comment on that. Some players get fouls called on them or for them at a weirdly disproportionate rate.
That said, Zion's foul rate this season is pretty insane. Among players who qualify in minutes, Zion has the 8th highest FTr in the NBA.
Hayes has the 14th for comparison.
You know BI will show up to play when the Lakers are in town.
Ingram wants that basket all game... Pls more of this...
Winning both quarters and taking a lead into the half despite shooting less than 25% from 3 (Lakers shot 40% on more attempts) and then taking more FTAs than us is a telling sign of how much the game can be won in other areas.
Dominating the rebounding battle (26 for us, 16 for them) including doubling their offensive rebound total means that we have quite simply taken more shots than they have, which can make up for relatively poor percentages. Converting on the FTs when you get them is maybe more important than just getting them (they have taken more, but we're shooting 83% from the line compared to only 62% for them, meaning we've actually made the same total). We've also focused far more on actually getting to the rim against a defense with a relatively soft interior - this makes sense.
Admittedly the Lakers are severely undermanned right now, but this is how you can win games where your 3pt shots just aren't falling.
Ingram directing the offense was a lowkey nice addition to his game. Called some nice plays and motions.
what was with the final shot? sheesh....
Starters at the half:
Zion: 15pts, 7rbds, 4asts, 60%FG, 75%FT, 1 foul.
Ingram: 16pts, 1rbd, 2asts, 66.6%FT, 100%FT, 1TO 1 foul
Adams: 10pts, 3rbds, 100%FG, 1 foul
Bledsoe: 0pts, 3rbds, 2asts, 0%FG, 1TO 1 foul
NAW: 5pts, 3rbds, 1ast, 33.3%FG, 50%FT, 2TO, 2foul
Spot the odd one out lmao
Bledsoe...
Ingram is feeling it against his former team.
Bled has absolutely 0 confidence right now in anything basketball related.
Bledsoe just made his first field goal of the night.
Cmon man Bledsoe is terrible ‘showcasing’ him has a negative effect
Ingram is in that zone
I don't know what's up with Bledsoe, you have to try real hard to be this useless.
Lewis got such a pretty release
