20-0 run with our best defensive players on the bench, Davis and Aminu.
Who knows, maybe next year Monty can have this years #1 and next years #1 on the bench in the crunch.
Aminu has really stepped up his game, and I think he can be one of the top 3 defenders in the game. His shots are dropping better. If he could get down the 3 ball, he could be a top 10 sf.
It's amazing how fast they came back with that Rivers diagnosis. They don't usually come back with that kind of diagnosis on game night. :huh2: We usually have to wait at least a day or so. All aboard the train I guess.
Man go back in my thread and point out where I said that the trade came after West's injury.....stop putting words in my mouth. I said that the trade was beneficial in terms of the long term play since we ended up missing West. We needed Landry there more than we needed Thornton. Gray's "shape story" came the season prior but him getting in shape did nothing to cover up him not being an athlete and being able to hang with younger athletic Centers in the game. Anyone can throw up facts which is what you are attempting to do. How about you do this....Since my whole premise from the beginning was that nobody was asking for Monty's head through all of the bad things that we had to endure that was out of his control....how about you pull your head out of the Hornets facts book to look at what posters are really saying?
for those who still like blaming NBA reffing... have fun w/ this

At 0:26, Robin Lopez dunk was blocked by D.Howard on crucial play. Was it a foul? Lopez: "Who knows? I wanted the foul. It didn't happen."
Howard got his 4th foul 2 minutes into the 3rd. he played the rest of the game only getting 1 foul. Bull****.
Before that he had like 10 minutes of playing time and 3 fouls... bull****.
You are just being a blind homer. We know you love him, but you have to be real. He isn't that good. Totally below average starter, and above average-to-good backup. Everyone is rooting for him to do well. Why wouldn't we? If he does well, and you like him, then you are justified. If he does well, and you dislike him, then he is increasing his trade value. Don't come in here with your self righteous BS.
You are new to the board, so I'm trying not to get into it with you, but you really need to try to see things for what they are. Vasquez just isn't as good as you want him to be. It's cool too root for the underdog, but you don't have any facts to support your argument. How can we respect your opinion like that?
Haha, usage rate just means how much you hog the ball. So, basically, Vasquez turns into a supreme ball hog at the end of the game, which correlates directly with what we are saying about his hero ball antics. Also, a higher defensive rating is bad, so I don't know why you are pointing to his 120 DRtg as a positive haha. You lose.
If that really is the case then I want Monty gone yesterday. You play to win. Bottom line. The moment a loss is a desired outcome. You're The Walking Dead. Just like Aminu. A brainless entity only out to consume and fester and rot.
Also. Thank god Game of Thrones is coming back soon...
We are winning and showing progress. We aren't the Wizards or bobcats. We actually have a crew that can win, we are just young.
Bring on the ping pong balls.
I hate how our fanbase is so conspiracy driven and blames the refs all the time. We suck. Face it. And our coach sucks at managing games, or is tanking on purpose, in which case he may be a secret genius.
I called it when he got his 4th. I said the refs will not call howard on another foul. He got his 5th with 1 minute to play or something. Refs in the NBA influence the outcome of games far to much, and the Lakers, Thunder, and Heat are biggest beneficiaries of the system.
I feel comfortable blaming refs. Since the Tim Donaghy bit. And the Refs CBA with them fighting not to have gambling restricted in their contracts http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3079309.I will gladly carry that banner if you wont.
Crappy refs is a fact of sports. They get in the way at the worst times. But I don't really believe they're actively trying to force certain outcomes. I think their incompetence is just that great it works out to look that way.
We had a 22 point lead. You even heard the announcers say the Lakers were just gonna shoot 3s to get back into the game. And we did stupid crap like leaving Jodie Meeks open for 3 all game.
And it keeps happening. Take SOMETHING away. Either take away Dwight in the post or run everyone off the 3pt line. They got everything when the game mattered. And what the hell ever happened to Smite a Dwight? We have a whole fresh body just ripe to rack up fouls in the clutch in Henry Sims and force Dwight to win it from the foul line. Why not use him?
Yes. If I didn't like the game of basketball so much I probably wouldn't watch at all. I do ask myself often though why do I even bother. I told myself this morning that the Lakers will not be allowed to lose to the Hornets after losing to OKC last night. I posted in the thread when the team was up a sizeable margin that I would not allow myself to get excited. I kind of was getting excited anyway though and look what happened.
Why is it that when a rookie is fouled, people say 'oh, rookies don't get that call'. Why not? If it's a foul, why not call it, whether he's a rook or a 10 year vet. Why not call it? That's a bunch of crock. On Sunday when the Knicks were playing the Heat, James White got called for 2 quick, silly fouls. Jeff Van Gundy said he got those fouls because the refs looked at him and said "I don't know who you are". LMBO. What kind of crap is that?
I approve this message. Lets point out the fact that during that 20-0 run, we could have had a guy shoot from half court for all of those possessions and make one thus altering the game differently. One made basket before 2 minute mark changes the outlook of the game drastically. Did the out of bounds call have impeccable timing ? Sure. Do the refs have a buzzer that goes off if Utah loses to make la lose ? No. Us not scoring and failing to play d is what lost the game.
Gordon is still rusty. You can see it. Monty and Gordon both admitted it the other day. Nobody is claiming Gordon is setting the world on fire. In fact, Monty said that Gordon is knocking the rust off this season, and he expects him to break out next season for us. So, again... You lose.
On a side note, River was +16, and Davis was +6. The next closest relevant player was Aminu at -2, and Vasquez led the tank with -18.
Yay Vasquez!!!
:hihi:
I didn't say it didn't happen to every team. I'm sure it does. It still might happen to more than it does to others though. But you're crazy if you think Donaghy was the only one. I still ask myself to this day why the league didn't do something about Scott Foster when Donaghy placed countless calls to him before and after many games. I don't think he was doing that because they were bff's.
ETA: I didn't totally place all blame on the refs tonight. Monty killed this game.
ESP when the entire team sucked it up.
I swear, I saw a straw at center court, and every guy on the team took 5 min sucking from it.
Actually, I didn't bring up GV until somebody else was asking me why I wasn't talking about him (during a point in the game when he was doing well).
I didn't feel it was necessary then, and I don't feel its necessary now. I am trying to help improve the conversation on this board.
But enough about me, what about you? I see from your avatar you like {mod edit}:hihi:
Oh boy.
That is pretty crazy (wasn't AR the #1 prospect at the time?). At least your just pinching yourself having the top 2 prospects on your team, Monty is crapping the bed with them on his.
Who knows, maybe this draft we will land Shabazz and have this last recruiting class' #1 player.
