Bol Bol to Miami with pick 44
Hey Bol Bol finally went!! Jeez that’s some number for 9 games!
21.0 point, 9.6 boards, 2.7 blocks, and shot over 50% from 3
Denver got him!! Jokic and Bol Bol!! Jeez
Glad that Bol actually got drafted.
Now we repurpose the energy: why hasn't Jontay Porter been drafted?!
Miami got the steal of the draft
Griffin in his presser is talking about how he's looking for veterans who fit with need, and who ''vocally drive culture'' for free agency, particularly because of how young we are.
The Pelicans' list of future 2nd round draft picks after today:
— Mason Ginsberg (@MasonGinsberg) June 21, 2019
2020: Wizards, Bucks, Pelicans
2021: Wizards Cavs, Pelicans or Bulls (worse of the two)
2022: Cavs, Pelicans
2023: Wizards, Pelicans
+ 2 future Warriors 2nds (likely between 2021-2023)
12 in the next 4 years.
Griff says he didn't try and sell Jrue on the young talent, he sold him on the vision, and Jrue was entirely in on it.
''Everything I've ever done, as an executive, is to build around people like you.'' - Griff about Jrue.
Based on only the last 6 months, Griff is the best GM in the league.
Griff's saying there were offers made for Zion, and that the value of the pick was huge judging by offers made, but he also said that ''none of them were even remotely interesting.''
I mean are we just going to go hard in the paint every play? Wheres the spacing i am told we need to win a ship?

Honestly, I don’t like our draft outside of Zion. Could’ve gotten more value.
Now I want to see Louis King not get drafted and we pick him up
I mean, Moore can shoot, Walker can shoot, Jackson can shoot, Hart has shown flashes of shooting, Zion improved a lot as a shooter towards the end of college, Wood has shown flashes of shooting, and Griff has made it clear he's looking in Free Agency for fit, so I imagine he has a name or two in mind.
Not like it's Steph Curry or anything but there's shooting promise
Griffin: No player we acquired or in the process of acquiring was brought in to be moved.

I was kind of being a serious smart ** but yeah i get it. Just really going to be some shuffling and coaching to be done with our roster as is. I have faith it can work, just kind of a big pot of gumbo not cooked yet and i’m hungry!

Jason Calmes: David Griffin says several conversations with other teams going on, but they can not be discussed at this time. Only the first pick can be discussed tonight. 8 mins ago – via Twitter BourbonStShots
Can’t believe we had 3 1st round picks and still need a backup point guard, small forward, and power forward. Unless we plan on rolling with a 6’5” backup 3, Wood at backup 4, and Jrue as our main back up point? Unless we plan on bringing in 3 free agents? Think we bring in a point guard and a power forward for sure.
Two future second rounders and cash considerations...no Smiley!
I don’t know how we passed on both a 3 in Little & a 4 in Clarke for another shooting guard with Jrue, Hart, & Moore on the roster. It’s just our most stacked position lol. Dude better be a lights out shooter from 3 and maybe play some point if needed.

We have big time cap space now. We have the money to go get what we need.
Am I the only one thinking we should grab one moderately priced guy in free agency as a big man mentor, and then sit things out, using the remaining 15-20 mil as cap rental space, charging first round picks for the use of it?

Good draft. Zion will be a great player, it's good that he is finally with us.
Hayes, on the other hand, is interesting
In addition, we got rid of the bad Hill contract - the FA market will be another interesting time for us. Great offseason ...
If we can’t land a star in this FA (highly doubtful), we should keep space open for the next big FA class with short term deals. Next year the FA class is awful, so 2-3 year deals would suffice.
I liked Bone in that 57th spot, but we traded it lol. Super athletic point guard
I legit forgot Okafor was only 23. Wow.
Cerebral, ambidextrous, and just badass Alexander Walker. That guy is a STEAL

My wild trade idea for the night. There have been
Rumors that Derozan is being considered as tradable by the Spurs for cap space. Derozan for Moore/?/ and Hayes.

My favorite part of David Griffin's presser...."this is not somebody who's supposed to be the savior of the franchise." "This is a 19 year old kid"
Very good words. Opposite of when AD got here and "This is AD's team" "He's our best player" as soon as he got drafted.
That never sat well with me and it's just goofy to put that much pressure on a teenager. His time will come.
