Are the players listening to coach and executing the system? That's on the coach. The GM just puts the players in uniform. The rest is on the coach AND players.

It's why most of my beef with Monty is his rotations. He's not giving his best players the best chance to win.

Right I agree with this. Only reason I'm even pointing out those names cause in our convo we were having he said that pick ended up being Tobias Harris so not that big of a deal. So I countered with if we are gonna judge the pick by the player a different franchise drafted with the pick then we need to see what else we missed it on.

Right now, yes, but next year or the following? Probably not. Gordon will be gone or leaving, AD will be playing more minutes at the 5, etc. Maybe the deal was 1 year early, but getting Tyreke looks like it can work long term.

You keep going back to that 1 first round pick. Plus if you think those players ar so good, they could of changed our draft pick for AD, the only bright spot according to you. A transaction reaches farther than the initial level. It lives on for years and years, and it should be judged as so.

But there is no guarantee we select any of them. We could of drafted Nolan Smith (who?) exactly. lol

It does. If the trade doesn't go through they match. Maybe Lopez wasn't an interest for them because of Cousins, but it was in their interest to complete the trade.

I never said he was a bad gm. I said he was average at best. We can't judge the Evans signing yet but it's not looking too good so far. If you sign someone and in turn can't find a trade partner for him to get at least = value back. That = a bad signing to me.

Who says they can't get equal value back? Has Tyreke been traded, or are you believing everything the media spouts out during trade deadline?

I brought it up because I wanted to get a full view of the deal. Just like the pick Philly has this summer. Don't care. Doesn't really affect me with my views on Jrue. The value of the pick that we traded to Portland #19 is low as far as producing good players. That draft just had some deep talent that worked out for most teams.

We can only go off what's being reported but when word around the league so far is putting tyreke Evans contract in the category of bad contracts then yea. It's all we have to base it off so far. It's common knowledge we over paid for him. That's a fact. A lot of nba guys think he's worth 8-9m per. We shall see.

By who? Simmons? Random ESPN tweeters? I don't beleive anything they say unless it's to do with the big 5 of Miami, Nets, Lakers, Knicks, and Clippers. They are uneducated with the Pelicans, and therefore most of their "insight" is just made up journalism.

No one. That is why I say I grade Dell as "incomplete." He is building talent. I am not sure I can envision his direction yet as it seems to keep changing. However, until the talent he acquires produces results or he has proven that he just cannot get it done, he is an incomplete in my books. I think this is his 4th season, so I would expect to see some results sooner than later. If the coach is the problem, he needs to step up and get that fixed.

I can agree with this, but I'm starting over with Demps. The AD era is all I'm worried about. Anything in the past is hogwash. I like what he has done the past two years.

No for 1 the kings by not matching tells that they don't think he's worth that. Lots of ppl said we over paid for him including MM. I only point him out cause he's part of this board. If I remember correct he said he thinks we over paid by 2m.(could be wrong) But we supposedly have to cause that's the only way to get key fa's to come here. Which I don't believe in.

I agree with most of this about the ad era. Where we are at and what our roster looks like by end of next year will tell the story on demps and Monty IMO. Hopefully we are in the playoffs and all is good. I just want this dam team to win no matter who our gm and coach are.

Question: doesn't Tyreke have a declining contract?
