I'm actually flopped on this. BM's lack of a killer instinct turns me off. That usually doesn't go away, a shooting stroke and creating for one's self can be worked on.

Question I ask myself is: Who would have looked better in last night's game?

Only question that really matters to me. We say "Well I think this guy can average blah and blah...." Who cares? Only one team wins a title. How do you think each of those guys would look in a game like that? Projecting forward, which guy do you think helps his team more in a game like that, not game 47 of the regular season?

Dipo's defense and ability to absorb contact IE draw fouls on offense. He's REALLY strong and has 30 lbs. on BM.

Also in a "take the shot" situation, it's a push if anything.

Its pretty fun. I love RPG's and the fact that this one is non linear makes it awsome. I hear ppl whining that its so difficult, but im playing on Dark and its certainly beatable.

So could Danny Green until he couldn't. If you can't put the ball on the floor and create for yourself, eventually a team will shut you down in a long series.

Meanwhile Oladipo is more Kawhi Leonard to me. Will defend like a beast and can get you rebounds and points in unorthodox ways

McLemore and Dipo had almost exactly the same combine numbers and measurements, except in two areas:

Wingspan (Oladipo +2 inches) and lane agility (Oladipo .10 faster @ 24 lbs heavier)

McLemore can get his own shot. Not only that, Dipo doesn't stretch the floor like McLemore does. In their college careers, Dipo only got 18% of his offensive production last season from his 3 point shot. Sure he had a good percentage last year but i'm willing to bet most would happily leave him some space behind the arch and sag off a bit. Meanwhile, Mclemore gets 37% of **** offensive production from the 3 point shot, 42% from 2 pointers and 20% from FTs. MUCH more balanced and much less weakness in his offensive game; to boot Mclemore almost was a member of the 50-40-90 club in college. I think if you look at it objectively, Spurs needed Mclemore and Heat would have wanted Dipo.

I'm not so sure of that. Dipo only took 2 threes a game last year, isn't it a good thing that he was making his two's and getting to the line? Also, if he is taking 3-4 a game and still making it at 40%+, they won't sag off.

McLemore is much more Ray Allen than Danny Green. Either way, they both had major impacts in the finals.

And let's not understate this. This isn't shooter vs athlete. McLemore is uber athletic as well. He's far from just a jump shooter, he's a guy that plays way above the rim. Plenty talented enough to stay with anyone on defense, and out jump anyone for a rebound.

It's his quick release that gets people excited though. That's the part of his game that leaves me with no doubt he can succeed.

Porter because he can play better defense and knock down open jumpers, which allows him to stay on court longer.

College 3's versus NBA 3's and i'm less sure Dipo's will translate into the NBA then Mclemore. Dipo got to the line but they get the same % of their points from the line, McLemore capitalizes on his FT opportunities better.

Mclemore is no defensive slouch either. His defensive stats are right there with dipo as well. Give me mclemore 10-10x.

Good point. I was just about to say his game translates better to nba IMO. Just saw u said same thing. So I'll just say I agree.

I think the people saying McLemore can't put the ball on the ground are kind of overstating it.

I think if nothing else we should be excited to have a shot at either one. I believe either one can improve our team. Too bad they weren't tall enough to fill our three spot

I still think baring a fruitful free agent period we will be lottery bound next year

I wonder about that. I mean, when people say "Can't create own offense." What does that even mean? Does it have to dfribble the ball up, fake one way, drive the other, spin, then layup? Or maybe jab step then put up a shot? I mean, they ran a lot of alley oop plays for McLemore. And he's VERY adept at moving off the ball. Isn't that as much creating your own offense? Going off the ball? I mean, assuming we take him instead of Burke, we'll still have a very good passer in Vasquez out there.

And McLemore is hardly a poor ball handler.

Seems like people are parroting generic player evals without really believing it themselves.
