Of course truth is you may end up being ecstatic you didn't get the guy you wanted at 3. Kings were happy they got Thomas Robinson last year over Damion Lillard...
It'll all work itself out. Have faith!!!
Really? Either Davis is rockin' platform shoes or he's grown another quarter of an inch or more on top of the half inch he's grown since we drafted him.
Or the pic I'm looking at has weird perspective and Drummond's head not being straight up will make up more height than I'm assuming it would.
I think C.J. McCollum is going to kill it in the workouts, raise his stock, and become our lottery pick at #6. Dude can shoot the hell out of the rock, can create his own shot off the dribble, and plays defense. That's just too much potential to pass up IMO.
I would be cool with McCollum at 6. He can flat out play. Zeller would be fine too. He's an offensive dynamo in this draft.
I'd take Zeller over Noel after that 206 weigh in for Noel. I still think Zeller has a good career ahead of him.
Zeller is being undersold.

Man their profiles looks mighty similar even though Stephen overall was a better scorer, 3 point and free throw shooter in college. But the strengths and weakness are exactly the same.
I still remember Drummond slid past Portland last year. I saw a glimmer of shining hope that we might land him at 10. Then Detroit ruined a beautiful thing.
They need to stop listing players based on height w/ shoes. What's the point? Just wear thicker shoes. It's also ridiculous that Thomas Robinson gets listed at the same height as Anthony Davis & Andre Drummond (6'10") on NBA.com despite the fact that he measured lower w/ shoes than Davis & Drummond measured w/o shoes. If I remember correctly, he only measured 6'8.75" w/ shoes and still gets rounded up a full inch and a quarter.
Anyway... as for Cleveland getting #1 pick again... they still won't turn out like OKC. OKC had picks #2, 3, 4, 5, & 24 over three years while Cleveland now has picks #1, 1, 4, 4, 24 over three years. Except unfortunately for Cleveland... the two years they had #1 it was a very weak draft and I personally think they made a bad choice with Waiters. While he may turn into a good player, I thought Barnes was a much better player & prospect.
To me, Kyrie Irving & Nerlens Noel would be like having Gilbert Arenas & Marcus Camby.
Agreed on both counts. Though I'm starting to believe the same as Mike Mc and others referencing how Monty brought up Rivers along with Davis in that interview... I really think he wants him to be our starting PG. I suppose they could try CJ at the 2 in that case (at least more so than Burke if he was taken). But I can guarantee you that CJ is going to wow in workouts ala Lillard.
As far as Zeller, I've made my opinion known that he is my top C prospect (yes, C not PF) over Len. Way over Len. Only problem is his brother has had some real problems putting weight on in Cleveland, and he has the same body type and genetics. But talk about athletic... Davis and Zeller running the floor? Wow.
Yeah, it concerned me that Monty brought up Rivers as well. I do think he wants him to be our PG. I worry that his personal feeling for Rivers are playing into his decision making. I wonder how many other coaches feel Rivers has PG ability. I hope Monty is right or he could set this team back a ways in its rebuilding. I think CJ is going to impress as well. However, if Monty is sold on Rivers, I do not see him taking him.
1. Considering Rivers hadn't played PG until this year, I don't consider it "forcing" him to play SG.
2. I didn't want the dude ANYWAY, why do we have to build our entire rebuilding plan around a 10th pick that had a historically bad season last year? That's ludicrous imo.
3. I don't think you can "tier" any player before they've played a minute at the next level. Where would you have tiered Lillard?
You're ignoring that he looked better at PG than SG and that he clearly started to "get it" at the end of his season and showed some flashes of a really good player in the making.
I'm not at all, and I've said extensively that I saw the same thing you guys saw prior to the broken hand.
Doesn't mean you base your entire rebuild future on that 14 games worth of progression. Additionally, he played more PG AS he started to "get it". Chicken or egg? I think he would have "gotten it" at SG as well.
I want Rivers on this team. But at SG. Probably 6th man SG.
I don't think he ever consistently showed that he can play the PG. He looked terrible at both positions over the course of the season, so to say he looked better at PG is all relative. He had a few games where he played better before he got hurt, but not a big enough sample to determine if it was an improvement in his overall game or a just a few good games. He is a work in progress and is very young, so there is hope. I hope he develops as a top PG because I think Monty is hell bent on using him there. He worries me though because he is not a distributor, tries to make his living on driving to the basket to draw a foul (and does not have the body to do this on a regular basis in the NBA) and is a bad FT shooter.
He is a gym rat. However, he also grew up under an NBA player and coach and had access to many of the best basketball players, trainers and minds. Despite that, his mechanics are terrible. I cannot believe his Dad or coaches never worked with him to fix that funky shooting mechanic he has.
Austin's dad was his dad. Not his coach. That's the way he wanted it to be.
Do you really think anyone of us know that for sure. Nobody can say that because they didn't grow up in the Rivers household. And Doc has stated many times to national media that when he started playing MS/HS ball he let his coaches coach him because he didn't want to put pressure on him to be like him.
