Hahaha touche' u know anything on this hairston kid? he looks legit.
just went on UNC's forum and researched and everyone said that he is a beast can score at anytime, can drive and has a wet jumper, said he is the best player on UNC's team, better than mcadoo and since his minutes have increased he has been insane, they said he reminds them of a taller marcus thornton w rebounding, kid had 29pts-9rebs the other night too, would love to get a late first and grab this kid if we go len, we could be a sg/sf twiner
After the laker game, Smart or Porter should be a lock. They are both good on the offensive and defensive ends of the court. Len, Noel, and Bennett are more one dimensional in their games. I don't put McLemore in there cause I think he'll be gone with the first or second pick. Smart is a combo guard that can play and guard multiple positions and I think Porter can guard multiple positions. I think they. We could have put either on Kobe and done a decent job after rivers got hurt. I can't wait for the off season to see the moves.
there is no doubt in my mind that this will be the most telling off season in Pelican's history....
FWIW, what Chad Ford said about Trey Burke in yesterday's chat:
Quote:
Has Trey Burke moved himself into the top 10?

No, but I'm beginning to wonder if he will ultimately land there. Scouts are obsessed with what he isn't (lacks elite size or explosive athleticism) but he's sooooooo good at everything else. If he was a better athlete, he'd remind me a lot of Chris Paul. I really, really like him. While I haven't heard anyone really mention him as a Top 10 player, I would consider him there and think that by the draft combine, scouts might as well.
Oh and speaking of UNC, the small lineup of UNC dominated Len yesterday. Do NOT want.
Not impressed with any big coming out save Anthony Bennett. Len...just can't get behind him.
I don't think it's his lack of athleticism they make me stop short of calling him a CP3 clone as much as it his lack of elite craftiness that stops the identical comparisons. I'd give the slight end of leaping and quickness to Paul and the slight end in strength and speed to Burke.
Another interesting Burke tidbit: He had 26 in that game yesterday, right?
He had 12 at the 8:00 mark in the 2nd quarter. 12.
How crafty was Paul when he was still in school? When Paul came to the Hornets is when I started watching and getting into basketball, so I never saw him in college. That's obviously more of an instinct than a coachable trait, but it can still develop, IMO. In any case, I'm not going to be unhappy if he ends up being our pick. Of course there's still plenty of time fo fall in and out of love with prospects...
Chris Paul was the most crafty college player I recall ever seeing.
Dribbling and ball handling can get better. Trey has improved his craftiness for his freshman season so it's do-able. I'm not sure how much more he'll improve in that area.
The one thing that Burke does that I only see PG's like Nash, Paul, and Irving do is his ability to to play at different gears in tight spaces. Those guys can get into the interior of a defense and have a gift for making the right plays. They play super quick make split second decisions, but never look rushed.
The reason I never like John Wall as a dynamic PG was because he plays the game at one gear super fast and his decision making was poor.
The college game allows more physicality in the paint and lanes compared to the NBA. However with Len, who experts say has an excellent post game on the offensive side and polished, still hasn't displayed those traits in the few games I've seen. Mainly watch UNC where PJ is a true force on the offensive side. Underrated in my opinion.
I'm in love with Marcus Smart. He'll go down as the best player from this draft, imo.
Otto porter is about to play cuse. He is gonna be good
Porter
Smart
Burke
Any of three would be awesome.
Otto about to tipoff on ESPN
love how porters vocal, always moving, knows where to be all the time, great cutter as well
Only two PTs at halftime but lead rebounds and assists. I like the kid and burke
I haven't followed much. But alot of hype of Poythress early on. Why he fall? Shooting almost 60% and 43% from three
Monty would just LOVE Otto Porter. Long, smart, plays great defense, versatile.
Nerlens Noel
Otto Porter's points don't justify what he's doing out there. he's orchestrating this team from the free throw line. They really run through him. he has a great understanding for the game and doing whatever he has to do to give his team the best chance to win. i've been watching this whole game, guys only taken three shots but you can see he's finding the open guys
The stats really don't bear it out. He's the key cog. He's like a 6'9" high post PG. Syracuse has no answer for him. They overload, he can pass over the top of the trap. If they come too slowly, he can rise up and knock down the jumper.
Dude would fit so many needs if we managed to draft him.
His versatility reminds me of Davis. Imagine him and Davis on the floor at the same time? The options and versatility would be a little mind boggling.
Did anyone watch the Syr bs Georgetown game fully? Who did porter match up against and did he execute well?
Marcus Smart is the pick if he's on the board.
Smart would be a fun PG to have honestly. He reminds me of a less athletic Wade.
I watched the last 10 minutes of the okst v kst game and Smart won that game with his scoring off the dribble and played solid defense and picking up 2 big defensive rebounds in the closing minutes with Kansas players crashing the glass hard. Smart will be a top 2 pick with maybe the Magic picking him up.
Smart fills backup PG and backup SG so I won't be opposed to him. I think McLemore would be a 2 with spot 3 abilities because of his good defense. Then Porter, then shabazz for same reason as McLemore.
I cant wait til the draft and free agency hollllly cow
I doubt Marcus Smart is still available when we pick, but he's my #1. But Otto Porter is probably the favorite to be drafted by us. Smart though. That size, athleticism, strength. Oh my god. And his defense? It's fantastic.
I watched most of it. Porter could've looked for his offense more if he wanted, but he choose to find every single gap in the 'Cuse 2-3 zone and facilitated, moving the ball. He pretty much locked up CJ Fair save for some crazy shots Fair made under duress.
All in all, it was the kinda game where guys get triple doubles, though he only scored like 10 points.
