Pistons select Nikola Pekovic
Pekovic top of Round 3?? Idk Guru..im thinkin reach, would love to hear how you came to this decision
With the 52nd Pick in the 3rd Round the Pelicans Select: Eric Gordon
http://i2.cdn.turner.com/si/2012/wri...on-hornets.jpg
I know I may lose this draft because of the straight hate for Gordon and what he's done to our franchise, but in round 3 It was really hard to pass him up knowing my needs. With George and Horford, I wanted another guy that can create his own shots. If you look at Gordon, he's 8th in baskets assisted amongst SGs who's played more than 25 Minutes per game. Outside of world beaters, Kobe, Wade and Harden, Gordon is really the only one of these guys that is solid in all phases of the game (less injury report). I figure if Bynum can be taken off of his past so can Gordon, and when healthy he's at worst a 17-3-3 guy. I did have some concerns with Gordon with his low assist rate and high turnover rate, but I think a lot of that is predicated on the fact that he's been forced to be a #1 option on teams without peripheral scoring, which, with my team I don't think will be a problem due to having George and Horford. Another think I like about Gordon is that he can help with floor spacing. He's not great from 3, but he's very capable to dropping it.
Boooo BSH exactly who I wanted, in about 6 picks. If you're still worried about the Gordon perception in a few picks and a guy you want is there, let me know.
THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS SELECT
RUDY GAY
http://static.foxsports.com/content/...06_660_320.JPG
Rudy Gay is a defensive game-changer, with a well-rounded offensive game. He is often asked to carry the load for his teams perimeter scoring, forcing him to take shots he does not have to. In an offense with Greg Monroe, Gay will be found cutting to the basket and slashing hard. Gay also brings star power that the Spurs missed out on by trading back into the late 2nd round. Although he has a tendency to be reckless with the ball, he is a fantastic addition to the Spurs with a statline of 18 points, 6 rebounds, and nearly 3 assists. And since the all star game, has added 2 percentage points to his pedestrian shooting percentage showing massive improvement.
The Dallas Mavericks select...
Ricky Rubio
http://static7.businessinsider.com/i...icky-rubio.jpg
Rubio is having an off year of sorts, after suffering an injury that put him out all of last year. PER tells the whole story, however. His team is always better with him on the court, as his court vision is unparalleled. He is a master play maker that fits perfectly next to Smith and Duncan, Smith especially as their oops will become some of the best in the league. This team currently needs a perimeter scorer, but there will be scorers available later in the draft, but no one after this selection will have a floor general like Rubio.
Washington Wizards select
Ty Lawson

and
Ryan Anderson

Damn, three really good picks I was scouting. Nice pick ups on the last 3 picks. Really really solid additions.
Sweet no one has my guy yet
Will be picking shortly. I think I know who I want but want to make sure first. The Eric Gordon pick threw a wrench in my plans.
Toronto Raptors Select...Roy Hibbert from Entertainment 720

Solid pick KY!
Basically he is a guy averaging 16-9, same numbers as cousins and monroe, but he is shooting a higher FG% then both at an awesome .518, he is also a 75% FT shooter and only turns the ball over 1.5 per game. He isnt a guy who needs the ball to be effective because he wears his guys down unlike cousins and monroe, and he is also less of a cancer than cousins.
Pekovic also gives a ton of effort on D unlike cousins and monroe
while pek only averages 1.5 TO's per game cousins averages 3.0 and monroe also has 3.0 TO per game
pek shoots 52% from the field while cousins shoots 46% and monroe shoots 48%
While pek shoots 75% from FT cousins shoots 73% and monroe 68%
