AD, David Griffin and Trajan Langdon are meeting today.

I'd say hopefully we get some news sooner rather than later then, but I could easily imagine this meeting happening and us getting no leaks :hihi: would be just our luck.
How long would you give AD to thin about it? Surely he is not going to make a decision on the spot. THe longest I would give him is at least until the week before the draft. That is more than enough time for the Pels to put final touches on any plans moving forward including a potential AD trade.
Griffin: Well, AD. I know you have been thinking about this meeting and what we will be discussing. I hope you were paying attention that we now have the first overall pick in the draft. Since I was hired, he have added Trajan as GM, have hired the best guy in the NBA to head up our training staff and have a heavy commitment from ownership for a lot more upgrades. It’s really hard for me to envision a brighter future for you in another location. I won’t waste your time. Are you all in?
Rich Paul: There is a lot for him to consider, so it might take a few weeks to decide.
AD: There is a lot for me to consider, so it might take a few weeks to decide.
Griffin: That’s fine guys. I can respect any decision you make. But I don’t think you have fully grasped the “All in or all out” concept. If what changes the organization has made to this point hasn’t made you excited about the future of this franchise, then I don’t know what to tell you, but it certainly doesn’t sound like “all in” to me. No hard feelings. I wish you well. I will do what I can to send you somewhere you will like better than New Orleans, but I am going to make the best deal I can for the Pelicans. Where did you say you would like to be traded besides LA? Because that ain’t happening.
AD: Rich!?! :help:

''However, if the meeting goes well do not expect Davis to commit to the team long term on just one face-to-face sit down.''
Then he can leave. I find it really strange how people are acting like this meeting is single event in isolation, rather than the culmination of months of moves on the parts of both AD/Rich Paul and the franchise. If AD is going to stay, it won't be ''on just one face-to-face sit down'', it will be as a result of the firing of Dell Demps, the hiring of David Griffin, the acquiring of Aaron Nelson, the hiring of Trajan Langdon, and the acquisition of the #1 overall pick in Zion Williamson.
It almost sounds like Fisher is setting up an excuse for AD to waffle about this, a priori. Kind of silly, to me. This is not step one of the process of dealing with AD, this is the final stage: the decision gets made now, but it's been in the making since February.
Outside of explaining the current moves and commitment to AD. Possibly throw down the Super Max. What else is there left?
Time to shift gears from trade scenarios to how to fill in around the Pelicans’ big three?
The Pelicans are going to want so much for AD that he will not necessarily go to a good team.
AD is all out. That’s all Folks. I don’t blame him one bit. It’s not just about winning. He wants more exposure, more fame, and a chance to play with Lebron James. We get tired of the same ole same ole. If you were in his shoes you’d really prefer NOLA over LA?

Nothing from Shamit either saying this happened today or this evening.
L.A. got nothin’ I need.
Wait. So did the meeting happen or didn't it? I'm starting to hear conflicting stuff.
No meet
Today was not THE meeting btw. Touch base session. THE meeting was always planned to be in the middle/end of the week, with the plan being to give AD a few days to mull it over and get back to them late weekend/early following week.

Be patient. It will all unfold soon enough https://t.co/iVmBHvNVRd
So, sounds like a meeting took place, but now there appear to be grades of meetings and THE meeting will take place later in the week.
This was his post this morning (yet now says everyone needs to be patient) -
BIG day for the future of the Pelicans franchise.

The decision does have to be made now. Almost everything possibly that could have changed and gone perfectly in our facor way since the AD announcement to now has. The only decision we would be waiting for now is AD to sign his extension. Unless he signs this deal then he will be moved. We will either enter the season with AD under contract or we will start life after AD. There is 0% chance AD is still on the roster without an extension when we start our season.
It's so frustrating to be honest, that despite the enhanced transparency we've had from the front office, we still can't get a clear message about what is obviously one of the most important meetings in franchise history. We aren't asking for notarised minutes or anything, we would just like to know what day the metting is ACTUALLY going to happen.
It's incredible how unclear this has been. Back when Griffin got signed, he said he'd meet with AD. Fine. Then like two weeks after, we heard that they'd be meeting after the lottery. That didn't happen, then we learned they'd be meeting after the combine. Then that didn't happen, now we learn they're meeting yesterday. That didn't happen, now they're meeting at the end of the week.
Why can't two grown adults just set a date for a meeting and actually go to it? I don't understand that prevarication.
They should care about what we want because we are the fans of the team, and there's no reason to alienate your fans over something that would cost you absolutely nothing. It would cost Griff and the FO absolutely $0 and about 30 seconds of time to clarify this, and it would make a lot of people feel more comfortable with what's happening.
Obviously they're under no obligation to tell us anything, but we all hated it when they did that in the past and it looked like they were going a different, more transparent direction.
Oh ha! Is that MM? I was thinking only a tool would put ELITE in their name. All he does is throw mess at the wall. Most of the time it's "a had source" or he pretends he never claimed something would happen. Every now and then coincidences occur. He's never actually reported anything insider.
Yeah it's MM.
It's funny because sometimes when he's just being open about things being his opinion, he can pretty decent. His posting about Zion inevitably having flaws in his game but being an incredible prospect anyway, and highlighting that Zion's athleticism isn't actually as excitin as his IQ, that's all true and is something a lot of Pelicans twitter needs to hear since they've been freaking out about the idea that Zion has any problems whatsoever. The last time he was on the In the N.O. pod he was pretty decent too.
But as a ''source'' for any information, you may as well flip a coin on whether he's right on any given thing.
What's really great about this is I can think of one or two people on Pels Twitter that you could replace the name "Bryan" with and they would totally tweet out something like this. I imagine every fan base has these pic.twitter.com/AhW7tVyXAm

I'm way out of the loop. Who the hell is ScoutBryan or whatever? What'd he do?
He apparently used to be a scout for the Washington Wizards. Now he's not working for the NBA anymore, and makes ''expert'' youtube videos and tweets a lot. He's also a horrible person. He recently got into a lot of drama because he was DM'ing long time followers on twitter telling them to either pay him or stop following him. Then he got very mad at people for pointing out that he doesn't appear to know what a zone is, and continued DM'ing them, telling them that he would make sure they never got a chance to work in the NBA if they kept on talking trash. He also DM'ed someone saying the he never watched college basketball when they asked him about some prospects, which (since he was a scout for them) explains why the Wizards are so garbage, hiring guys like that.
He also got into an argument with an old NBA player (can't remember which one) telling him that he doesn't know basketball cause he's never worked in a video room. Then he claimed that when he worked for the Wizards, the job got him tons of girls cause they loved his ''half zip team issued'' hoodies and bragged about taking girls on dates to the NBA practice facilities. Which is amazing.
When called out on all this nonsense, he proceeded to go on a blocking-spree across twitter, make at least two fake burner accounts to argue with people, and write up a multi-page semi-manifesto calling out twitter ''analytics'' nerds and generally having a meltdown.
Meltdown May caught a late one.
Edit: Here's one of the tweets from the burner accounts. It's absolute comedy gold.
Raise your hand if you've seen the look on your date's face when you take her to a pro sports facility and she realizes you have keys to get in ANYWHERE at the facility except for the operations annex. Anyone?

What is it with people named Bryan and burner accounts?
