Are you convinced he should be the pick?
Seemed sort of reckless with the ball in the second half, but I'd take him.
He's tough and talented in terms of backcourt skills, but on the defensive side of the ball I really worry about his lack of size and speed.
I still hold belief in Rivers for some reason, he was balling before he got hurt. If Otto Porter falls to us I think he should be the pick. If not..idk..im torn.
I definitely think he should be in consideration.
Just wondering if you watched the national championship or do you just believe everything you read? Burke played an okay game on D, and that while he was trying to carry his team to a win. Also, he had one of the craziest blocks I've ever seen a guard make. It was Eric Bledsoe like.
I don't really understand why but people keep picking apart his game. He goes on and continues to answer critics game in and game out. Unless he goes for 20/10 50+% every game, there's always some sort of criticism.
Forgive them, they know not what they say.
We could all be looking at a black piece of construction paper, and they would still debate it's not black enough to be black.
he's the guy if porter is gone IMO. other than steals, CP3 & Trey Burke's sophomore seasons were eerily similar
Hopefully there are plenty of critics come the draft and he falls in Dell's lap.
I have to admit, other than last night I really havent watched much of him. I only know of him from what has been said here and other sites. I said no, not because of him or his play, only because there are players that fill bigger needs for the Pelicans. I'm hoping for a SF. But I wouldn't be dissapointed if we drafted him.
I can only hope that Burke somehow falls to us. Rivers being a Pelican means nothing at this point, if a talent like Burke comes along you don't pass it up. Rivers can be our 6th man or move him back to SG.
I was convinced 14 months ago.
I don't see why he and Rivers can't exist. Burke is a great scorer out of the pick and roll, can get to the cup at will and has hit some huge shots in college. I'm sold, the kid has a bright future.
The thing that impressed me with Burke in the tournament is that he seemed to be more of a floor general. He seemed to take control at the point, which is something we do not have on the team now.
I think Burke would be a good pick, but I'm not sold that he is "the" pick. If the Pels end up around 6 or 8 then I would be very happy with Burke. If they get one of the top three spots then I think guys like Porter or Smart would be just as good (if not better) choices.
I was impressed with what Burke did last night in spite of being sat down for nearly a qtr of the game. If he was in those 12 minuets his numbers would have been better.
You all know my opinion, I need no convincing. It was fun watching him last night.
I'm just gonna leave this here.

I'm 100% sure that at 6'5" Vasquez could never get that high :hihi:
Look how good of a play. He doesn't even touch Siva. That foul cost the game.
Depends on where we pick. You guys think he's a top 5 guy?
I think that floor had springs in it. Siva and Burke were high flying.
I said this before people question Burke athleticism because he's smart and plays under control. He doesn't have to waste energy. That's the maturity you want from your leader who is an extension of the head coach. Burke never use to dunk in games until he was encouraged by his teammates who seen him do it at practice.
I'm afraid that he may measure really well(unlike some people have projected) at the combine and we could be in danger of not being in a position to draft Burke.
I agree.
I think it's safe to say Burke at most is #5. GMs will be all over
McLemore
Noel
Porter
Smart
With the magic most likely #1 or #2, I don't think they take burke. The next 4 teams or so already have their PG:
Wizards: Wall
Bobcats: Walker
Cavs: Irving
Suns: If they believe in Dragic.
So:
Magic: Smart
Bobcats: Noel
Suns: Mclemore (replace the hole left by Gordon)
Cavs: Porter
Detroit could be one that screws us.
If the Suns took Burke, this board would explode with Gordon trade talk :hihi:
Take Oladipo, Gordon to PHX for Dragic +, profit.
That's the thing about lotteries nothing is solid until after.
I just have to say this is an excellent point though. Most of the bad teams are married to their respective PG's of the future. Meaning Burke dispute a great showing could fall. Even if he shows out like a top 3 pick in the combine.
It's odd. Burke is #2 on my board by production, and McLemore is really there on pure "potential." He hasn't wowed me, but granted I haven't watched many of his games. I've probably watched 10 Burke games, and I usually only watch the Final Four in college bball.
Ford has us taking him in his first mock draft
According to Ford's lottery machine, Burke is ours at 6, 7, and 8.
If we're 1 or 2, he has us taking Smart. If we're 2 and Smart is taken, we take Porter. I haven't gotten 3 yet, but I assume we'd pick Porter.
So that pretty much means Ford has our best fits as
1. Smart
2. Porter
3. Burke
The goaltending calls also changed things, but Burke would be a steal.
Burke seems to very one sided. He puts so much into his offense, he reminds me of Curry which I don't know is good or not because curry is an elite shooter while he isn't. He also has the tools to be a fantastic combo guard who happens to be great at passing.
If last night didn't convince you, that burke can at least be pesky on D, I don't know what to say to you. It was quite obvious last night.
Burke has Jimmer range, with the defense of .....
Tim Hardaway. Burke is Hardaway more than he is CP3...so yes please. Give me Burke.
