Anthony Davis Highlights.

Didn't catch the game last night and I heard this may have been the best game of his career so far. Some individual highlights would be much appreciated.

He is getting good at that jumper. Real good. He could be a LMA but more athletic

Was nice to see Davis driving with the ball instead of taking the jumper every time.

I'm still in shock and awe that we actually lucked into the #1 pick last year... It's just amazing to me that we got a player as rare as Anthony Davis, and I really can't describe how excited I am for the future of this franchise.

He;s really got some nice moves at the elbow. He seems very very comfortable from there.

Agreed, but there are several reasons I like our chances better this go round:

1) Davis has a much higher ceiling than Paul did, and that's not taking anything away from Paul. Davis is just a freak.

2) We have more young players to grow with Davis and a better overall core than we did with CP. We also get to add a top-7 pick to the mix this draft.

3) We have a much better cap situation to play with, and we're actually in the position to offer the max to a player this off season.

4) I like Monty and Demps way more than Scott and Bower.

They are already wrong.

He's Serge Ibaka. Which is what I thought he'd be and that's a great thing for the franchise as guys like that are needed to be a championship caliber team.

He has way more offensive game than I think anyone thought. I didn't think he could hit that 18 ft consistently. He does though.

Honestly, the form and how comfortable he is with his shot, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he develops a consistent shot from 3, although that's dangerous for young bigs because then they float out there. But if that's part of his game he will average 20+ easily. I think he'll be about 18-19 ppg next year regardless. But yeah totally agree, his offense is surprisingly smooth and coming along very wel.

The difference is Ibaka plays with Westbrook, Durant and(before this year) Harden. So he isn't expected to do much. But there are highlights of Ibaka doing the same things.

Yeah I have access to YouTube, just not to that video because it doesn't exist but feel free to prove me wrong. Ibaka is great on D/Blocks and can hit an open jumper, but ball-fakes, drives, constant lobs, multiple 18-footers a game.....no, that's false.

That comment is asinine. Dude is already better than Ibaka overall as a player.

He does exactly what Davis does. Catch lobs, shoot open mid range jumpers, block shots, finish at the rim with contact, face up jumpers, jump hooks in the post and drive with a open lane to the basket. Same exact skill set.

That's cool. However this should be address to everyone not just me.

I personally don't see the Ibaka comparison besides they both can hit a midrange jumper, and both block shots. Ibaka is a little more explosive, but doesn't have the best BBall IQ. He hops around like peter Rabbit trying to block shots and is not as good of a rebounder because of it.

Davis does not turn the ball over as much either. Davis is better than Duncan when it comes to this (but Davis has a lower usage%) while Ibaka is 3rd to the bottom amongst PFs(lower usage than Davis) that get 25 MPG. The even more interesting point is despite getting a higher usage rate than Ibaka, he's still turning it over less. Davis also takes the cake on any PER type stat as well. This is all while taking into consideration that this is Davis' first year. Davis basically walked into the league as an above average starter at the PF position.

Edit: I didn't want to cherry pick stats here. There are things I know Ibaka does better. Like i said earlier, he's the more explosive athlete and the better shot blocker. I'm also really impressed by Ibaka's growth over the past 4 years. He is no longer a liability on D.

And secondly, the problem is that you aren't giving him his just due. Watching him on the court, it's obvious how much higher his basketball I.Q. is than Ibaka's. His offensive game is WAY more developed than Ibaka's, and he really improved defensively this year in terms of rotations, not biting on fakes, etc... 2nd It's a moot point. You say he has all the potential in the world and I say his potential is very much limited. Saying he has a better offensive game than Ibaka is completely an opinion.

Lastly everybody keep talking about not giving him his "due", but I indeed have. Some of you are giving him credit for things he's simply not doing.

The biggest point though, we're comparing a good 4th year player to a rookie who wasn't supposed to have any semblance of a offensive game outside of dunking. That's great. When Anthony reaches his 4th year how excellent will he be?

I guess all the coaches and GMs in the league are wrong because DaThrone says Davis' potential is limited. I agree he hasn't done anything to cement him as a great, but you can see the potential if you just watch games.

But what do the most talented scouts, GMs, and coaches know... Davis is already at his peak...

When you post stupid things, you should expect this sort of a response. I think your original prediction that Anthony Davis was the 7th best player in the draft and only has a ceiling of Serge Ibaka is totally and completely moronic. Now, am I calling you a moron? In just a few months time in season Anthony has developed his offensive game greatly. He is doing things as of late that he would have never been able to do early on in the season. I'll say it again, he has developed a offensive game that allows him to do things now that he would have never been able to do early in the season, and he has done all of this while playing in 61 games, practicing nearly every day, and battling injuries. So in the summer, the time a player REALLY develops different aspects to his game, what do you think will happen?

Saying he has a limited potential is just an idiotic statement.

Where in the world did you get AD's ORTG and DRTG advanced metrics? According to basketball-reference.com he is at 112 and 104, respectively. Also, Davis' WS/48 at .153 is higher than Ibaka's .134. Just to add to the mix, Davis' PER (measures offensive efficiency) is 21.5, whereas Ibaka's was 15.2. Also, Ibaka was a full year older than Davis.

I don't think those NBA.com stats are right. These kind of stats are new to NBA.com. Either they're still working to get the kinks out or they may have a different formula than BR.com.
