New NBA Mock Draft Sim 2013

I'd be upset if we passed up Bazz for Porter. which is what happened in mine.

I'm starting to think Porter may be a better fit with our personnel.

If we grabbed Shabazz, I would be inclined to think that Gordon was on his way out.

I got #3 pick first try. We picked Marcus Smart. I was kind of shocked by that.

EDIT: Got #1 pick couple tries later, and we picked Smart again. lol

There was one mock draft, which had a draw of PHX, ORL, CHAR, and WASH before us.

How perfect would that be? In such a scenario, I could see (which happened in this mock) us having the ability to choose between Shabazz and Otto.

Idk. I had a sim where PHX got pick 3 and 6 (us at 7) and they took Oladipo and Porter. We were stuck with Alex Len.

5 times I did it we got ....

#5 pick.. Alex Len
#6 pick...Otto Porter
#6 pick...Otto Porter
#1 pick.. Marcus Smart
#5 pick...Alex Len

That's different. They had two picks before us, as opposed to one.

Plus, we 7th in your scenario, and 5th in mine.

And why is Alex Len rated so highly on this simulation?

I've run this thing about 50 or more times and it looks like it has us targeting Marcus Smart, Followed by Alex Len then Otto Porter then Shabazz.

Those were the only names that came up for us and we mostly came up in the 2nd, 5th and 7th spot. 4 times as #1 and picked Smart evert time. Picked Len every time at #2 except once when Mclarmore went 1st we picked Smart 2nd. picked Porter or Len every time at the 5th spot whichever was on the board, and picked Shabazz every time at the 7th spot except once or twice Porter fell to 7th we passed on Shabazz.

Interesting.

In addtion. As I keep running this thing, I see us picking 6th, 3rd 8th peppered in there but still mainly 2nd, 5th and 7th with 1st everynow and again, but never 4th....bizzare

No matter where we end up picking, they have us selecting only 1 of 3 players. Depending on where we pick and who goes earlier, our big board apparently is:

1. Smart
2. Len
3. Porter

I couldn't find any scenarios where that didn't hold true and where one of those weren't our pick.

Edit: I didn't find a time where we picked Shabazz, but I guess I didn't run it as many times.

We got the #5 and chose Len over Bazz and Porter... And Bennett.

This thing is broken.

Sometimes it has us taking Porter over Len and then others Len over Porter... MAKE UP YOUR MIND MACHINE! lol

I just got us going #1 overall and we took Smart. lol

They are set on us taking Len. I have had the 3,5, and 7 and got Len every time.

I hope we land Top 6.

Doesn't seem like we would have a chance to grab Porter otherwise.

I hope shabazz and porter get taken so that we can get anthony bennett. Hornets are drafting best pick available, mickey loomis style. Drafts are too much of crapshoots not to draft BPA.

I thought it was interesting that it had us taking Len if Smart was off the board and McLemore was still there. I don't see how we pass on McLemore if he's still on the board. Plus I don't think that Len is the type of 5 we want to pair with AD if our plan is to keep AD as a 4. If we're going to keep him as a 4 we need to get a bruiser like Pekovic. I still think the plan is to have AD at the 5 and Anderson at the 4 though.

If we take Len top 6 ill be disapointted.

I think the way Chad Ford sets this up is by doing a draft board for each team, so he obviously has Smart 1 and Len 2 for the Hornets.

Trade the pick with Orlando and snab their pick this year and next year. Get Marcus Smart, and Draft Jabri Parker next year :hihi :

like everyone else, i get smart at 1, len at 2 or 3, porter at 6

If we passed on Porter or Shabazz for Alex Len, like they did the first and second time I did it, I would be very disappointed.

Want nothing to do with Len anyway.

I agree. If the Hornets pick is where the best PF, then still choose him. They would either move one to C, or have two awesome PF on the floor the whole game.

Porter, Shabazz, and Burke are the only guys I'm really interested in. Maybe Marcus Smart as well, but I don't want to judge him before I've seen him play.

while he is pegged as a PG he can play the SG as well, he is the same saze and player as harden, with a rivers smart combo it would be like our version of lin and harden or jennings and monta ellis

Yeah, he'll be the first pick.

Which would mean we'd have to suck very bad (worse than this season).

The following 3 drafts should go well as you have Wiggins next year. Karl Towns the year after. And then in 2 years you have Jabari Parker (who will go on a mission for his church). Thats a Kobe/Lebron followed by Andrew Bynum, followed by Carmelo Anthoney for those of you scoring at home.

Now is the time to trade for some unprotected's.

I've been reading he chose not to go on his Mission, and he plans on trying to make it to the NBA.

Yeah, he will play a year then go. He doesn't have to go right away. Shawn Bradly didn't and went #2 overall right off his mission.

It just amazes me how Burke continues to play out of his mind against good teams and in these mocks, MCW and McCollum are lottery picks and he's not. Just amazing.

If we were like 10-15 I'd be ok w Len. But then I'd be pissed we didn't take Burke lol.

I'm starting to think Porter can get to number 1 pick status. I mean, if he gets My Hoyas into the elite 8, Is he the first pick? I really don't know much about the other players in the class. Could he potentially get to number 1?

If he continues his recent play in March madness, I could see him going #1. Normally teams draft the potential at # 1. Porter does a lot of things well, but nothing great, per say.
