Pelicans Move Training Camp to Nashville

The New Orleans Pelicans will hold training camp in Tennessee this fall.

The team typically has training camp in New Orleans, but the Pelicans are headed to Nashville this year because their practice facility in Metairie ? the Ochsner Sports Performance Center ? is in the midst of a renovation.

The Pelicans will practice at Belmont University from Oct. 1-6. Then the team will return to New Orleans for its first preseason game, which is Oct. 7 against the Orlando Magic at Smoothie King Center.

New Orleans has three other preseason games, all of which are on the road. It faces Orlando on Oct. 11; the Miami Heat on Oct. 13; and the Houston Rockets on Oct. 15.

The renovations to the practice facility are expected to be complete in mid-October.

Good to hear they are investing in renovating the practice facility. Not a huge deal as it's only for one week and training camp for the NBA isn't open to the public like the NFL often would be.
