But seriously, can OKC amnesty him? I thought that they could, and if the could they should and probably would, and if so, what then? Does Perkins just become a FA and anyone can sign him for whatever? IF that is the case, would you be interested in signing him and for how much?
I think that if we could sign him to a reasonable deal for a couple of years that we should, assuming we trade Lopez. Perkins replaces Lopez hopefully for cheaper(not really sure what he would fetch in FA but I'd think it couldn't be much), gives us a better defender and rebounder and opens up more touches for AD and doesn't take minutes away from him, allowing us to still have the option to have AD and Ryno on the floor more. He is still only 28 years old and he has championship experience that would be so valuable for a team with no experience what so ever.
But this is only a good move if we can/would even sign him, and then if for a reasonable price, what do you think?
