Apparently GSW have figured a new method of getting Curry and Thompson open. Pretty cool.

Also called a gate screen.
I ran this in high school except we ran it along the baseline.
Yes sir
That's just good basketball. You wonder why the gate screen (we called it that too) isn't used more in the NBA with all the shooters out there. Seems like we should try to incorporate this for Anderson and Gordon a little more.
Yeah pretty common with certain skilled teams, but switching to a zone will kill the team's easy gate shots.
Anderson really isn't fast enough to do this well and he's a bit big to make it through the screen fast enough.
I don't think we have one player on our team capable of this. First we set some of the saddest screens I've ever seen. I don't want Gordon shoot those shots anyway, and he's the only one quick enough to get through the "gate"
Burke would. :D :hihi:
Only person we have worthy of this play is Anderson and I have a feeling the big would just rotate over even if Anderson was quick enough to slip through.
I think Trey Burke is just as quick, if not quicker, than Steph Curry.
Shooting shots from the top of the key over your own man isn't as easy as it looks
Curry isn't that quick lol. Burke is easily quicker than Curry.
People are acting like Burke is slow or something. Curry uses a lot of misdirection and fakes to get his defenders off balance. You'll rarely ever see him get to the basket without some kind of hesitation move. The guy became craftier and craftier every year.
If this was 2k, Burke speed would be 87 quickness 85
The initial post about Burke's speed was clearly sarcasm.
Anyhow, the gate screen is a mad play. We use to use it, infact I was lucky enough to be the guy to go through it alot. Works very well as you can initiate it through Horns, which already has a huge amount of options with it.
