I think this seems like a more reasonable/realistic deal and more of Dell's style...it ain't sexy but it'll work in the long run. (Trade Machine is down on ESPN sorry but salaries match up)
Pelicans get: Ronnie Brewer, Eric Maynor, Perry Jones III
Knicks get: Al-Farouq Aminu, Roger Mason
Thunder get: Steve Novak
Why Pelicans do it: Brewer becomes a starter and a more capable starting SF that is buried three deep on the NY bench, Maynor will be a capable back-up PG that is ALSO third banana on the OKC bench and PJ3 would be a back-up SF with a lot of potential and more upside than Lance Thomas. (though after giving fans fries yesterday, I like Lance- a-lot more as a person)
Why Knicks do it: They get the defensive presence of Aminu on their 2nd unit that will help in the playoffs, plus J.R. Smith is the 1st, 2nd and 3rd option off the bench. Though Mason doesn't add much, the salaries match-up and most importantly both contracts come off the books next year for NY so it'll free them up in FA.
Why Thunder do it: Novak will bring more scoring off the bench to team up with Martin making their 2nd unit much stronger.
What do you think?
