Relied way too much on jumpers. Can't keep happening.
Questions:
1. Did Lopez and Aminu play as well as their stat lines?
2. How was Vasquez?
Ugh, I obviously want him to attack the basket and draw contact, but every time he seems to do that he takes so much punishment. He needs to continue bulking up, because if he doesn't, his frail frame won't be able the psychicality of the NBA. However, I have complete confidence that he will get stronger over time......after all, he's only 20.
It looks like this season is going to be a struggle with Winning vs Development.
1. Lopez was dominant on the boards... Aminu looked timid IMO...
2. Was horrible IMO... Dribbles too much with no progress...
He needs a pull up jumper in the worst way. When he attacks the basket and there are multiple defenders waiting for him, he is usually forced to commit. He can get into the lane real well but he needs to be able to find a way to finish in traffic or before he gets into the crowd. It's obvious to me that he is not going to be able to finish with a good rate without bulk and strength. I wish he would just pull up and take a 10ft jump shot more often.
Davis, anderson, and Lopez were only 3 rebounds short of out rebounding the entire Mavs team. Add Aminu's 8. Its PRE season. This is good.

Yes, that rebounding is a rather pleasant sight. We outrebounded them and they out free threw us.
