Any name can have a good color scheme and logo. Doesn't mean I like the name. You could name a team 'The Turds' and come up with an awesome color scheme and logo.

I'd rather keep Hornets than have pelicans. Whats a pelican going to do, use it's beak??? Hornets sting and if we do change it what will happen to the hornets franchise. I mean it has history behind it so someone should use that name in the NBA

If you really wanted an intimidating name, more people would've been on my one man Reapers bandwagon. Or maybe it was me and someone else that came up with the name. I dunno.
Oh and don't forget the Arc(h)angels).

I joke, but I'm not crazy about it. All the same, the name won't matter in a year anyway. I know I mocked Thunder...doesn't matter now.

Those are my favorite rebrand concepts so far. I feel this way; some names in the NBA are terrible and not intimadating at all. Example: Lakers. I know they were originally Minnesota and had geographical relations to the state when they were there, but still, a pretty sissy name no matter what it means geographically to the state. This name is obviously owned by one of the elite power-houses in this league and no one hardly ever thinks anything of it. A name, no matter what (Unless of course it's something utterly and blatantly stupid, which this name is not) will eventually grow on everyone. And this meets the criteria of relating to the city and state that most of you have asked for.
Still holding out hope for Breakers.
