TAD GORMLEY!
Done.
Wherehappens.
I don't know how big the Lakefront Arena is... but there are arenas that have cut off end zones (only 6 yds long or so instead of the regulated 8 yd long) b/c it can't fit. I can't name any off the top of my head... but I def. remember the Austin Wranglers from the pre-bankruptcy days was like that
I remember a team in Houma-Terrebonne called the Bayou Bucks... their games came on CST (they were part of the NIFL... they got into a tif with Terrebonne Parish and folded after suing parish government in federal court)
there was also the Lafayette Wildcatters (don't know if they still exist anymore actually) and the Louisiana Swashbucklers (in Lake Charles... still playing I believe)

They do have some play in the endzones to the tune of a couple of yards.
Hell, Shreveport had a CFL team at one point.
"Hornets means nothing." - Tom Benson
It's either lakefront or bust for them! Take it or leave it.
Bust and give up the name.
I remember when the Hornets moved here and kicked the Brass out of the Arena, one of the options looked at when the Mardi Gras krewes wouldn't let them move back to the Municipal Auditorium was the UNO Lakefront Arena. But they couldn't go there due to the dimensions needed for the ice rink. I'm thinking that the same issue may come up for the Voodoo. It's a shame that they are probably headed down the same road as the Brass. Didn't the Voodoo use to have pretty good crowds? What happened? Was it because of the new owner?

It's the AF2 masked as the AFL. People have high expectations and the current ownership is unwilling and unable to accommodate those higher expectations. They are happy with 4-5k per game because in Dallas Jr they only got 2k. They don't advertise at all. They have crappy looking jerseys. The gameday itself is very cheesy and forced. It's overall not a fun experience. I used to buy season tickets during the Benson era and had a blast and loved it. The current attempt is nothing like the old, I am no longer a season ticket holder because of it. The Zephyrs, a AAA baseball team, puts on a more professional atmosphere.
Yeah, the game day experience, it's not what it used to be. I don't even know if the auditorium would even be a feasible option at this point. But the state has way to much invested in this deal as does Benson, so the VooDoo's needs are going to fall on deaf ears. The only other option maybe, proximity wise, would be the convention center. And that's if it's feasible size wise!
So any word yet on the name? Not one Fletcher Mackel or Fletcher Mackel trying to pull a lee zurik, where are the people who know people?
Well, nothing to report but just judging by all of the circumstances coming to a head I think it is safe to say that if he's going to buy the Voodoo brand it's going to be this off-season or not at all.
The phone signal in the dome seems much better with this lighter crowd.
Agreed with UP.
If I learn something, I will let you know what is shareable.
If this is the last Arena Football game I attend then so be it.

You were the second biggest celebrity at Arena Bowl behind Ron Jaworski.
This is true.
This is damned true.
Wait... isn't the NOArena still set to host the Arena Bowl again next season? or is that a year-by-year deal?
I really hope Benson buys the brand back. The only names I really like are VooDoo/Krewe/Knights.
