Say what you want, but our city was named after the Duke of Orleans. Some of the Dukes were warriors, and I am pretty sure the one we are named after was.
Second post in the thread.
Wonder when they're going to get the ball rolling on this officially. Obviously it's going to be a year but since Benson owns the team now I would have thought they'd announce a contest or a pool of names or something.
"Hornets means nothing." - Tom Benson
Pure speculation... early 2013 before we starting seeing the designs etc.
I've been told that the ball is rolling but it's all within the Saints camp. Meaning that Benson might leave it up to their marketing department to handle the re-brand as opposed to the Hornets team. I don't know how much consolidation is going on within both businesses, but I'd venture to say that their is some slight favoritism on behalf of those working with the Saints, simply because they've been around him longer.Wonder when they're going to get the ball rolling on this officially. It's not out of the ordinary to think that some job's might be clipped in the process, especially since it happens all the time when companies sell, take over or consolidate. I know that I hate to see people losing jobs, not that they will, but by the new offices planned on being built and relocated on next to the Saints facility, it may prove to stressful for whatever reasons to continue working for the club.
But if what I was told hold's water, their new offices will incorporate a sky walk between both buildings so that personnel can move in between as needed.
There are changes afoot, unreported changes... domething between normal turnover and dismissals.
Leave the name as is.
The best possible name is in Utah.
I thought about this for a few days and came up with something.
Instead of going with 'The New Orleans ______' maybe 'The Crescent City __________' would be... something.
Golden State has done it, and I love that. It would be cool. Of course, more of just a thought.
Look through this thread. You'll find some.
