Many have other jobs, and procedures exist to account for them. Takr issue with your rep if you didn't like their action, of course. Let's not lynch them, though.

This bill has one purpose and is high profile. This is ripe to use for concessions on other items.

My expert says they can bring it back after the deals are done. No limit. This just told them that not much needs to be done.

    Don't buy the sensationalism here.

Why does the website linked above with how each rep voted say the result was PASSED?

With all due respect, while $3.65 mil doesn't sound like a lot $43 mil- $62 mil does. I would give them a tax break, but not that much of a tax break. Heck the state funded those "I'm In" ad's, and what do they get for it, to foot the bill to keep a team in town? I don't know, I think we should be able to keep the team without having to give this kind of tax break. Can anyone point to another state doing this?

    Just my opinion.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

I'll look for examples. Stern has said in the past that government support is key (like these tax deals).

I found this article talking about the money that Florida gives their professional teams. Granted it is not in a positive light but look at what they give out and then remember that thanks to the Mercedes sponsorship of the Superdome, the state is not giving anymore money to the Saints so it is not missing out on anymore money. Look at it this way, the state owns the arena so giving a tax break to keep tenants there for the next 12 years is ok with me.

Its just a stupid decision by the politicians. They don't realize the state would make more money in the long run.

Man, I need to own a sports team. That's better money than selling alcohol during prohibition.

I like it up here. More South LA politicians voted against it than North La. You can't blame us for everything. You suck too.

This is just postering. It will happen. Most politicians have to much to lose by letting the Hornets leave town. NOLA seceding idea is also a lot of the reasoning from out of town legislatures opposing they break. They feel like This is just for NOLA and everybody else has to foot the bill. I'm not saying that it's right, but there always seams to be some underlying animosity between New Orleaneans and everybody else in the State.

Can the state go and give Shell, Chevron, and all those other companies a tax break to come back.

Close enough. I'll stop by Gene's and get the poboys. Hot Sausage Poboy has to be the official food of the revolution.

Too bad only 65 of the battles will be televised . . . .

Exactly. It only missed by 4 votes? Maybe something will get tacked onto this bill, or somebody will changed their vote on some other bill, but almost without a doubt this will end up getting passed. Its politics.
