I'd LOVE this move if we pull it off. We'd lose size, but Okafor battles in the paint for rebounds and is an excellent shot blocker.
I think I'd have an ecstasy induced heart attack if we somehow got Gerald Wallace in the deal too.

This won't happen.
If it will, i'm gonna crash my head jumping to the ceiling
Compare this to the last Chandler trade, the Hornets only benefit salary cap wise with Wilcox/Smith. In this deal they're getting a legit center, something they may not have gotten with the cap space we were supposed to have.

He's a career 14ppg/10rpg guy.... his worst year is better than Tyson's best. Add the CP3 bump and we could have a 16-17ppg C.Originally Posted by UNO Gracias

You'll all get a lot disappointed..sorry, but in my opinion these threads should wait for the trade to actually happen..where's cp3 and 11 gone by the way?
*assuming.
I'm thinking we offered something more than Chandler, even at TC's best he is not as good as Okafor. Let alone coming off of a year having played less than 50 games and with a toe condition. The Hornets HAD to offer soemthing more. If not, I'll be shocked.
I love JuJu but I'd trade him for Gerald Wallace in a HOT minute. Hell, Wallace is the exact kinda player I want JuJu to become.
AND I recall an incident when the Bobcats were playing the Hornets and someone suggested to him us trading for him and he said something to the tune of "I think I'd like that"
BUT, that's asking for too much.
But what is the Bobcats motivation to make this trade? Any thoughts???
They were hanging with Marbury.
My guess would be salary motivated. They could be thinking if they get two years of a mostly healthy Tyson (not likely) it would be better than payin Emeka for an additional 5 years from an economic stand-point. That's my best guess.Originally Posted by Tenroh

Dell Demps PLEASE get us some scorers!
Maybe they regret extending him so long. No they get a guy off the books quicker?? Or perhaps Okafor was complaining because he isn't the teams centerpiece as of late
LOVE IT!!

How good we will be I can not say, but we will be fun to watch.
Now I'm happy the hornets keep quiet about things. As of yesterday, it drove me nuts
This has got to be a joke! It is too good to be true. I can only pray this trade is for real!!
From a pure basketball standpoint this deal will make the hornets title contenders again...From a financial standpoint this deal will put the hornets in futher financial troubles UNLESS Peja, Mo-pete, or Posey are apart of the deal for exchange of an expiring contract (which I doubt)
Shinn did say he would gladly pay the luxury tax IF the team was a contender. With Okafor, they should get back to contender status barring an injury bug.
is anyone else refreshing the ESPN page over and over hoping it changes to DONE DEAL???
