I'm thinking we need a countdown-to-tipoff clock somewhere around here.

BRING ON THE JAZZ
LMAO! LMAO! Say-what you da man!
We could bring down the house literally with these Harvey Bobbles. It could become a national craze. :9195:
I understand where you guys are coming from with the "save the Jazz until later in the season" position.
And in future years I think it would be best to put the Jazz later on the schedule.
But in this, our inaugural season, I think opening up at home against the Jazz is the best way to get the Hornets era in New Orleans started. Closure for those of us who were Jazz fans and the beginning of a new era.
It's absolutely perfect in my mind. For future years I agree 100%. But this is going to be some kind of special night.
I bet this game sells out as soon as tickets go on sale.

A football game can't stop hurricanes.
It can't fix levees.
Or rebuild houses.
But it can let a city know...
That it's a city once again.
Welcome back, New Orleans.

I am with Slidell on this one. There couldn't be a more perfect opponent for opening night.
Let's send the Jazz back to Utah singing the Blues.

Hey...I wonder how the Utah fans are going to perceive this game. Probably just another opening game for them. Wonder if any of their fans will make the trip. They might just be in for a little more than they bargained for...
I think you're right Slidell. But, the media will definitely play it up for sure. It will be no big deal in Utah though. We need to win it.
You're probably right. I would guess it is nothing special for them. I would not expect many making the trip.
I'll drop Andrus a note and see if he can import that countdown clock he has over at SR.
This is going to be a spectacular game. I know we are all juiced about it. I am pretty sure that I will be there, so I am stoked. I also think I may be at the game in SLC on 12/12, but I am going to be a lonely voice. Anyone want to make a road-trip?
I think the Hornets could pound the Jazz as Slidell wishes. The Jazz are on their last legs, at least John Stockton is. The Jazz are in a bit of disarray, but they are getting that guy from Spain, so they do have some young talent.
I agree that this is the way to start the season off for the New Orleans Hornets. Many of us thought this might happen. I think it will help build excitement for the entire season. It would be nice if they had a second date in NOLA, but look for that to happen in a couple of years if the Hornets move to the WC!
Things are finally happening now. Rejoice O'Coullions of the swamp world, for thine hast been liberated!!!
It will be the day brefore Holloween. It'll be crazy in the Arena. Look for a lot of masks worse than Harvey. They managed to work around Mardi Gras nicely. Mardi Gras day is March 4th. They have a home game the Wed.(19th) before against Miami & a home game the Fri.(7th) after Mardi Gras. Road games in between. Maybe after the Clippers game Monday 3rd, they can fly home & enjoy Mardi Gras day.Originally posted by say-what

When I saw Utah @ New Orleans, it made me very happy. What better way to kick off the new franchise than to play the old one. It will be a packed house and very exciting.
I'm upset that NY is not playing NO at any of the times I am usually flying home; but they have some games that I will catch when I am in town.
It doesn't get anymore official than this . . . New Orleans is back in the game!!!!
