Sources: Chicago has traded forward Nikola Mirotic to New Orleans for Omer Asik, Tony Allen and a first-round draft pick.

New Orleans is sending Chicago a 2018 first-round pick with "minimal" protections, league source tells ESPN.

Shams is saying Tony Allen is in the trade too

YES! Good trade.
Now, get Monroe and we'll get a very good rotation at the frontcout even with Cousins out
Jameer Nelson also is expected to be in deal, per source. He, too, will be waived along with Tony Allen.

Assuming the protections on the pick haven't come out yet huh?
First-round pick the Pelicans are sending Chicago in Mirotic trade is protected 1-5 in 2018, per source, with gradual easing of protections in subsequent years.

So next up monroe then we are 8th seed bound
Looks like we are getting our 2nd round pick back also.
I survived Katrina, but nothing I owned did.
And we are the front runners for Monroe
Let this sink in for a minute ASIK IS GONE !!!!

Come on now, we got a 17-7(25-10 if he plays 36 minutes for us like he didn’t in Chicago) player that is the best stretch 4 in the business and compliments both Davis and a
Cousins incredibly well as he can play the 4 and 5 and has thrived in Hoiberg’s ball movement system. All for a non-lottery pick.
And you get out from under Asik’s contract. So you go into next season turning Asik’s albatross into Mirotic’s incredibly valuable expiring.
Now someone correct me if I’m wrong, but after the draft, Demps has the capacity to sell the 2019 first rounder as well?
