Pelicans Food for thought. Can we lure them?

3-point Field Goal Percentage Leaders as of Today per espn
    RK PLAYER 3P%
    1 Kyle Korver, SG 0.445
2 Otto Porter Jr., SF 0.444
    3 Joe Ingles, SF 0.437

All three are free agents this summer Ingles is a restricted free agent. I do not think we can afford Porter Jr. but maybe Ingles or Korver for a punch as a starter or a 6th man type.

Kroger and Crawford off the bench would be pretty great

Porter would be great but I am sure it's impossible. Ingles would be a great pick up imo

The first two, no. Ingles, possibly.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

Would love to get Chris Paul and Doc Rivers as HC if the Clippers clean house. Factor that Erman was in assistant under Doc in Boston.

CP3 ain't dead to me. If I had to choose between paying him max and Holiday max, CP3 all day
The most overused words on Pelicansreport.com. Wrongly, I might add.

ELITE - (often used with a plural verb) the choice or best of anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of persons.

GREAT - notable; remarkable; exceptionally outstanding

These words should not be used lightly

Not all maxes are the same.

Yeah, giving Jrue a max deal would be a tragedy

You don't understand how the cap works, and that's O.K.

Didn't say it couldn't be done. Didn't say I wouldn't like to see him back. I'm saying its not happening. CP3 isn't coming back.

How do you know? Have you read his instagram? Interesting he brought it up. Notice the picture is not a Clippers pic.

Didn't Cp3 verbally agreed to staying with the Clippers on a new deal?

Yes, so I'm not sure why we are still talking about him coming back here. The Chris Paul era in New Orleans is over and has been over for a long time.

The salaries would affect similarly Benson's pocket but would be completely different for the team. Signing CP3 would kill our cap space whereas Jrue's contract will count 4 mil more than Hill's. The cap issue is the only reason why Pels will give him that contract and probably that's what they should do.

    Verbally only. See Kevin Durant.

I know you guys might not have reason to know this, but Boogie absolutely detests Chris Paul. As in maybe his #1 least favorite person in the NBA. Feels he's a gutless fake and a flopper. There would probably be a massacre in the lockerroom by the end of the first week of training camp. Be little bits of PG scattered all over the shower room. Be a mess to clean up for the poor janitorial staff. Probably better that CP3 is a virtual impossibility.

Here are a few of their interactions over the years:

First, the legendary flop of all flops:

There's also this (sorry, only allowed 1 vid per post it seems):

    Just...not a terribly great idea I think.

P.S. I should again mention Ty Lawson if you wanted to look at a poor man's version, who has had a bounceback year, works well with Cousins, likes uptempo, and yet is likely still very affordable this summer. Obviously having him near Bourbon Street would be a risk, but it could be a real talent upgrade on the cheap, and there are reasons he might actually come.

No disrespect to Paul but that's an bad conclusion for him to end his career in LA if championships is his ambition. Their core is clearly suited to reach levels of championships. Dude must be committed to staying put for his brand or his kids or his wife. That I can understand, basketball wise , I think it makes no sense for him to stay with that current core.

That's from November man. CP already (verbally) declared he's resigning with the Clippers. Give it up.
