Makes sense. I wouldn't be surprised if we go after Nelson. Also possible we bring Russ back too now.
We didn't give 'Ol Gal a chance.
JK. We did. He just wasn't must aside from passing.
Nelson will a be Pelican...Real soon
Someone's gonna have to fill me in. Why would the Pels be "hopeful the Israeli floor general clears waivers" after releasing him? Is it a contract thing? Seems to me he was already on a minimum contract.
What? I liked Mekel the games that has played, very good passer. Nelson? Yes i would like, veteran that can help in a young team.
I'm hoping they are clearing space for another trade or pickup. What about Royce White? Sign for the min and we could leave him close to home. I liked him coming out of college. I know he has a thing for flying.
Will Boston release Nelson?
That makes me believe that we'll bring him back if he clears.Pelicans hopeful the Israeli floor general clears waivers.

Expect a trade or pick up folks, they are clearing space for a reason. Expect something to happen TODAY

I have no idea who or what Demps is doing with that roster spot. But he wanted it today for a reason, one he likely already has lined up.

@usnfish 2 months til trade deadline, & you can only aggregate new player's salary after 2 months. I expect a move very, very soon.

This makes me mad, not Mekel being cut because that guy was garbage, but that Salmons wasn't cut with him! Seriously Dell and Monty are trolling the Pelicans fan base so hard with this Salmons crap, it's a sick joke.
Thought Mekel would stick around. Got to be a reason for this move, like another move coming.
I originally thought 100% signing a new guy like Cunningham or Mekel, which I was for since Mekel seemed to be out of the rotation anyhow. But the idea that we are hoping he clears waivers is super interesting. Perhaps we are looking at making a trade and needed a roster spot to bring in more than we send out? Then, we could waive one of the new guys and hopefully bring back Mekel?
Who knows. I still think it's probably just bringing in a new min. guy but it's food for thought.
