"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin
...not Memphis? They're the eastern-most team in the west
Who moves to the west then?
EDIT: ok, see he listed them too. Indiana, Detroit, Milwaukee and Chicago. I'd be ok with that move.... I doubr those four teams moving west would be happy though.

I still think the smarter long term strategy should be to just abolish conferences altogether and just have a 16 game playoff system where the division winner gets in no matter what.

I need to look at this more closely, but it seems intriguing on the surface.....
"we might make dollars, but we don't necessarily make sense"
"always be sincere....whether you mean it or not"
I would welcome the move. Who wouldn't raise their hand.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.
I have to say, I hope both the Clippers and the Mavs miss the playoff this year. Because that would make two media-friendly owners on big market which would be mad to see their team miss the playoffs with a record good enough to be top-4 seed in the East.
He is from Down Under - so it is reverse. He likes You.
...
joke Aussie
When the team relocated to NOLA in 2002 they were in the East and everyone was screaming for a realignment to the West, which we got when Charlotte got their new team.
While I like being in the division with the Texas teams from a rivalry standpoint, I always thought we were a better fit in the East and had hoped for a "Southern" divisional alignment similar to our NFL alignment (established rivalries with Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando in place of TB).
A football game can't stop hurricanes.
It can't fix levees.
Or rebuild houses.
But it can let a city know...
That it's a city once again.
Welcome back, New Orleans.
I actually like being in the division with the teams we currently are in with. Once we get to be a contender we will be more than battle tested and well deserved. I wouldn't mind a move to the eastern conference with those teams staying in our division.
