Monty blew it when he decided to not have Reke or Jrue in the game .. leaving the ball handling duties to rivers and Gordon. It shouldn't happen. But the team fought hard and played well for the most part in the 2nd half

I don't think anyone is defending Gordon over any other option. I think what they are saying is "Gordon's already in the game, no reason to have a guy come in cold and depend on him to win us the game."
It's illogical, but I believe that's the argument.

Proud of our guys(except for Gordon/Rivers) for fighting back into this game considering the start. However, we could've won this with better play in the fourth.

Gordon doesn't fit on this team at all. Tyreke outplayed him and there's not enough touches to go around. We just need a spot up shooter in that spot
So the Pelicans "best play" is to have Tyreke Evans launching 3's and jumpers. What a dumb team.
Now would be a good time to put your best 3 pt shooter in Monty...
