You lost me with the rape thing.

I've already agreed that those fans that left were stupid. Only thing I disagree with is when fans of other teams make sweeping statements like "Miami Heat fans are front runners and bandwagoners..." You can't characterize the entire fan base because a few fans left. 95% stayed!

How many years in our existence has New Orleans been ahead of Miami in NBA attendance? Our NBA fans aren't all that different from theirs.

I think there is a stereotype of Heat fans. I think something like this plays into that stereotype and gets blown out of proportion. I think the 20k or so that can afford a game 6 ticket represent a small % of the actual citizens of Miami that are Heat fans, just as the 20k Pelicans fans in the Arena represent a small slice of actual Pelicans fans in New Orleans. I think when 500 to 1000 fans AT MOST leave early, that's a poor representation of the fan base in general. So to criticize Heat fans, and say that they don't deserve a championship because a relatively small number decided to beat traffic at a game where even NBA officials assumed it was over (they taped off the court and brought out the trophy, doesn't make a lot of sense.

It's stereotypical loser mentality. Let's criticize the fans of the winning team. They don't deserve to win. I just don't get that.

My family has had expensive season tickets to Hornets games for years. The last two seasons have been especially embarrassing in terms of fan support. I'm pretty sure we rank last if not in attendance, in game atmosphere and fan enthusiasm. People arrive late and leave early if they arrive at all. Some games, if none of us can make it, we literally can't GIVE AWAY $100 tickets!! But I don't have a doubt at all that if/when we get good and start being in the playoffs, that arena is going to be full and rocking!

Know what that makes Hornets/Pelicans fans.....?? No better than Clippers/Heat fans. Front running, bandwagoners!!!!
well you wont have that problem anymore, holla at ya boy

Arguing a stereotype with complimentary made up facts (95 percent supposedly stayed from "what you saw") seems really silly and hypocritical.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

III. I've sat in the Terrace for years. There were ABSOLUTELY fans that were leaving Saints/Vikings. They may not have made it all the way to door before returning to their seats but they were leaving.

IV. No one criticized Spurs fans for leaving in game 4.

    V. Just don't see the point in criticizing other fans. Especially when it probably was a small minority that left early.

Do you have video evidence of people leaving the Saints game? NO! Enough said. That is just offensive what you said. #Dump!

You should know better than to use reason in a Heat-hating thread.

No place for that here. Hatred is blinding.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

Heat game was the ONLY game i left early because i was so disgusted. (not by the teams play, which was bad, but by the bandwagon that surrounded me)
I was the same way. There were heat "fans" everywhere I looked that night. I just couldn't stomach sitting through the rest of the 4th and cheering on their "home" team (since I am sure they're all from Miami and have legitimate reason to root for the Heat).

And nothing made me happier than seeing those videos last night of Heat fans not being let back in. You can best believe I'd be there to see the last 30 seconds of a close game 6 play out.

Must be an ironic kind of funny there, champ.

So what we've established that, from your post and others, in order to say something about bandwagon fans or people that leave games still very much in the balance early. We have to be from said city. Have no trace of said fan behavior in our own city anyway. Attend absolutely every game in person by paying for the tickets themselves. And don't have the nerve to be on a gameday thread.

Huh. Well. These are the rules people. We'd best, like, abide by them and stuff.

I am calling out band wagoners and i had a half season ticket plan package also went to numerous other games via stub hub tickets. I calls em like i sees em.

EDIT: and like i've said NUMEROUS times when this bandwagon arguement comes up (which it does every few months) I personally asked 4 Heat "fans" sitting around me "Hey man, where you from?" every response was "i'm from here". So they are obviously NOT from said city... does that mean i can call them Bandwagoners now or is there yet another rule that i need to comply with?

Because you can't post on the forum at the game. I wish they would create something for that.

Like some kind of...handheld device that uses advanced radio waves to communicate wirelessly. Hell, if they started on this before we could be on the fourth generation of such technology. But damn our Luddite society!

I'm going to get crazy here so dont lock me up; just spitballing. A wireless handled device with an application that can connect to a centralized place where we can all connect through text, images, and sounds. I just reread that out loud, never mind that's too radical.
