    Pondexter vs Miller

Quincy Pondexter just had a pretty impressive playoff performance. I'm not sure it cements him as a starting Sf, but his play turned heads. We all know the story of how he got there and where we are at now. My question is how do you compare Pondexter's first season with us to our own Darius Millers'? They slightly remind me of each other. What are your opinions and who will have better career?

Both have similar skill sets. Pondexter is stronger and more athletic and was slightly better as a rookie and will probably start next season for Memphis, but I like Miller too. I think he can be a solid piece long-term for this franchise.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

pondexter is more athletic and better defender, offensively miller is a better shooter, has better post moves, better jumpshot, better everything offensively

Q-Pon is listed as two inches shorter and like 10 pounds lighter. I doubt he's stronger than Miller. But yeah, I think Miller is going to be a good'n. He needs all the minutes Henry gets, most of the minutes Roger Mason gets, and a lil' of Aminu's minutes as well.

I didn't know Miller was as good a passer as what he showed me last season. Once he figures out how to guard without fouling, he'll be a 2nd round steal.

He's such a good glue guy. I loved the pick in the second round and I love it even more now. A bench of

    Rivers
    FA
    Miller
    Anderson
    Lopez

    is just SOLID.
    Wherehappens.

another thing about miller, dude is an incredible passer.

Well pondexter never went to the combine but here are miller's numbers:

    37inch vert
    14 reps on bench
    11.34 lane agility
    3.31 3/4 sprint

pondexter prob has the same vert with a slightly faster agility and sprint time with less bench press reps, i'll say this, pondexter better D, Miller get O, pondexter quicker, Miller stronger

they are completely different but I like my bench guys to be able to score more than defend, u need to put up points while ur starters are off the floor and its not like u have to be great as a bench defender because ur going against backups, not durant's

I second your thinking. I think Miller is your prototypical backup SF. 2 more yrs and we MIGHT see a possible 6th manic the year assuming he can put all of his physical talents together.
    Jrue dat

Good post, Samuel Dave Chapelle Adams. Prob won't see X-Henry back this season and if Roger M-Jr. comes back I think it'll be spot minutes as a veteran locker room guy. Watching Udonis Haslem's press conference where he said Juan Howard gave a beast-mode half-time pep-talk that sparked LeB to echo it on the bench, makes me realize how important it is to have those vet types on a contending squad, even if they don't play much. D-Mill could take those minutes and be a crucial glue guy for sure.

Must admit, that's a supa-nisch bench squad. But where do you think that leaves J-Smith? Every time Monty mentions him he speaks really highly of his impact on the team, and he seems too productive to play spot minutes as a 5th big man.

I would love to have Pondexter at SG and Miller at SF coming off the bench. We would be absolutely stacked.

I can't believe people are debating over a couple of role players!

The offseason needs a song. So you can post it on threads like this to justify its existence.

Oh no question about it - I am bored out of my mind and want this month to fast forward. I just liked seeing Pondexter do well and wanted to reflect on him vs miller, as I see them have very similar potential careers.

yes! that really surprised me about his game. he also is a willing rebounder. once he becomes more consistent with his 3 point shot and understands that he can't take it to the rim like he did in college, he will be a solid backup 2/3

idk about more consistant, dude shot 40% from 3 and thats after going 1 for 8 at the end of the season, should have been more like 44%.
