Just like slim, I kind of secretly want Shabazz Muhammed if and only if Ben McLemore, Otto Porter, & Victor Oladipo are all gone. I'm hoping Porter falls, which I can see happening. I wouldn't rule out Cody Zeller moving up into the top 5 based on his production and athleticism. Guys 7'0" that can run and jump like him don't come around all that often and could see the Suns falling in love with him. I always thought of a James Harden clone as well, when watching Shabazz play this year. They almost look identical with the beard and the lefty shot. I also remember when Harden came out one of his weaknesses was supposed to be athleticism and Mr. Chad Ford had him around the 7-8th best player in the draft I believe. He was selected earlier than that and didn't play that great his first year in the league. I think Shabazz will have a better rookie year than Harden unless he falls to a good team that won't need his services. Everyone thought he would be the number one pick going into the college season or at least the top wing player. I like many dreamed that we could get this guy to be our #3 option on the starting 5 in the draft. Then he has a down year at a school that is known for not so great offense. I think that was a bad decision going to UCLA for him. I honestly believe if he would of went to say North Carolina or Kentucky, he wouldn't of had to force things and would be considered a top 5 lock. He needs a decent point guard to get him the ball and not so sure Larry Drew was the best at doing that.

Team at the end of games:
    C: Davis
    PF: Ryno
    SF: Bazz
    SG: Gordon
PG: To be named later, I would love if we could keep Vasquez to be our version of Manu coming off the bench. We are supposedly trying to duplicate what the Spurs have done. That's why I hope we can get Brandon Jennings to be our Tony Parker, cause I would love for Vasquez to have a Manu type of role on this team. Or I'd have us take Trey Burke, if Dell doesn't see Bazz as a fit here in NOLA!

Give me any of the following:

    PG: Burke*, McCollum*, Schroeder
    SG: McClemore*, Oladipo*, Pope
    SF: Porter*, Bazz*, Saric
    PF: Noel, Bennet, Zeller
    C: Len*, Gobert, Adams

And I'll be happy to take * with our 6th pick.
I really hope we can make a trade or purchase another late lottery pick

with all the talk of rivers as a combo guard if he grew another inch and hit 6"6 he would be better to play the SG position better and we could have a future lineup that looks like this:

    burke
    rivers
wiggins, parker, whoever SF from next year
    ryno
    davis

6'5 is more than tall enough. If Rivers is unsuccessful it won't be because he's lacking an inch.

i know that and completely agree, im just saying 6"6 gives u another advantage if ur a SG

  12. #62
There's not very many SGs in the league who are the protypical 6'6 now and days. Rivers problem isn't length. It's strength. Hopefully this is corrected this summer.

I'm not sure what to think of Shabazz at all ... my gut feeling is the Hornets pass due to the attitude concerns. I wouldn't crap on the pick completely though ... he was thought of as the likely #1 pick all college preseason and he didn't stink at UCLA or anything ... so I'd think there's some definite upside at a position of need.

Muhammad's dad is a huge issue right now. The influence he has on Muhammad can really hurt him.

Top NBA prospect and former UCLA forward Shabazz Muhammad is used to deal with distractions on his road to the NBA, and now Muhammad will be preparing for draft night with the ultimate distraction hanging over his head. Muhammad’s father, Ronald Holmes was arrested for bank fraud and conspiracy, and is currently in a federal prison. Ronald Holmes, father of former UCLA basketball star Shabazz Muhammad, was indicted Thursday on federal bank fraud and conspiracy charges. The indictment states that Holmes and his partners obtained “mortgage loans by fraudulent means to buy houses,” from 2006 to 2009. The U.S. attorney’s office is seeking to recover $2.5 million from Holmes.

Hopefully he's smart enough to distance himself and forge his own path. He had little choice before. But he's about to enter grown man league. Time to be his own man.

dont know why no one thinks he will be a top 5 pick, dude is 7ft, athletic as hell, has a post and mid range game... beast.

He was especially effective in the corners, where he shot 80 percent from the field for the day.

Combine that small sample with other known qualities of Zeller -- he's the fastest big man in the draft (both laterally and in sprints), has the highest standing vertical (35.5 inches) of any player 6-foot-9 or taller in our database, great hands and a high basketball IQ -- and the question is: Did Zeller go from being overrated to underrated?

I'm going to start picking his game apart and wonder why the Pelicans would pass on him. I haven't found a reason yet.

yup, look like zeller and bennett might go top 5 to the wizards and suns, now i wont be surprised at all if 2 out of these 4 are there at pick 6: burke, porter, oladipo, burke. 2 of them will drop to 6.

while i dont think zeller can bang with centers, regardless of being 7ft, he doesnt have the strength or wingspan, but at PF he is going to be a beast, a lamarcus alridge, teams that need PF's will be dying to grab zeller or bennett.

btw they compared zeller to alridge and bosh, if we didnt have davis i'd take zeller at 6 in a heartbeat, or if they felt davis is our future center or zeller could play center then id take him, but i dont see either happening and think burke is the pick, butttt otto porter could drop
