HR SIM LEAGUE: MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES
Mod over at reddit.com/r/NOLAPelicans
I really like this guy. I think he did a good job in Denver. From what I've read in their blog, most fans are devastated.
Moves to a bigger and a better market and makes more money. No brainer decision. Denver was just incredibly cheap.
What I find interesting about this guy....
I'm 32 now... When I was about 15, he used to play for Solent Stars in the South of England in a moderate sized town just outside of Southampton. I used to go and watch regularly.. Usually about 300 people... maybe getting near to 1000 when we were riding high.
We had a good team (it's all relative!)... We were English League Division 1 which is 1 league below top division... When you consider our best export as a country in recent years is Joel Freeland and he's done...nothing... In the NBA since being drafted, you get an idea of the level of play we have / had over here.
I just find it odd reading about this skinny dude I used to watch play at this old rubbish sports centre 1 mile from my home and how he's now the GM of the Nuggets/ Raptors NBA franchises!
