Thread: CJM

    CJM

Curious to hear your thoughts on how he fits and what role he could play for our team immediately or down the road...

Is he exclusively a 1? A scoring combo guard? A spark off the bench? What would taking him mean about the AR experiment? Whats the probability we take him?

He certainly seems to be generating a lot of buzz lately. Steph Curry 2.0 assessments. He can handle, shoot lights out, read and react to screens, etc.

I can only imagine the hype will amplify with individual workouts coming up.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

I would be ecstatic if we picked him. Hope he impresses in individual workouts.

Personally he's who I hope the Pels draft. I think he isn't a threat to Rivers as much as he is Gordon. Drafting I'm allows us to move Gordon. Also I think he and Rivers would fit perfectly against each other. Both can play on the ball or spot up. Both can play the PNR. Both can drive to the basket and get there with ease. He's the best pure scorer in the draft and I think him bring able to come right in and contribute is a big deal to Monty.

Me too. I just hope Dell will be less concerned with the fit, and more concerned with drafting the best talent left on the board.

I have a feeling by the time we get to 6, CJM will be just that.

Same here bud. I'm a bit afraid that PHX is gonna fall in love with him. Only time will tell.

The more I look into him, the more I fall in love with him. Interesting perspective. I think Rivers and McCollum can more than fulfill the dynamic Dell envisioned with Rivers and Gordon: complimentary players who can handle the rock and play off each other. I can't even imagine how effective McCollum would be with a three-point threat as his backcourt mate...

I wouldn't be upset with him, but I'd rather go with Kentavious.

I'd be happy with that pick if we move back and get something in return. KCP can fill it up. 6 is a little too high imo

Seems to have the size, athleticism, and scoring ability to play the point for Monty. I would like to see him goto the pelicans.

I think he'll be pretty solid if he can be a point, but thats a pretty giant if. I don't think he would be a great 2 guard at his size.

Hm. I've seen this guy cross my awareness too much. Time to see if I can find some unedited footage on him.

I see him as Curry, Nd having the type of talent that transcends the small school stigma he will face, much like Lillard, Curry, Farried, etc.

I would take him, and I am sure he will have a solid career.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

If we don't draft Burke, I wouldn't mind taking this guy. We need somebody to improve the offense and CJ would definitely do that. Also wouldn't mind if we could somehow move back and select Caldwell-Pope. Haven't seen much of these guys, which one is the better defender?

At this point there's no telling if he drops to 6, he seems to be one of the fastest rising players in this draft. Wouldn't mind him in a Pels jersey for sure.

Drop to 6? You mean rise to 6.. Right ?

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

I would be ok with CJ. I doubt we will land Porter or Burke.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

I meant he could rise above 6, there's no telling what team might fall in love w/him after individual workouts... Today the idea might seem far-fetched, but I'm convinced there is going to be some changes in the consensus top-5 or so players before draft night.

    At 6 I lov him

i have mcollum in the 7-10 range so he should be there at 6

  21. #21
I have McCollum at the 4-7 range. We fall directly in his range. I would have no problems if they take him to be a shooting guard.

  22. #22
glad you guys are finally coming around. He is a really slithery guard.

  23. #23
He needs serious work on his on-ball defense. Not sure he has the agility to defend NBA PGs. That said, I like him a lot, and I'd be cool with him if the top-5 are off the board (Noel, McLemore, Porter, Burke, and Oladipo). Still, Shabazz and Saric would be in play if it goes down like that, and so would Len. At that point, we will go for need if we feel they are close enough in talent/potential. Decisions, decisions...

I'm not really sure anyone in the draft doesn't have major major flaws.

agreed, only player with a complete game is oladipo, people may say he cant create his on offense or dribble, im calling BS, he crossed over mkg last year for a nice fadeaway mid range, he can attack the basket and finish incredibly well, hit the open 3, defender, rebound, pass. best player in the draft. Why i was hoping we would land the 3rd pick, for him or otto porter. sucks.
