Draft Who to pick if the consensus 5 are taken?

Who do you think we will select if the consensus 5 are taken?:

    Noel
    McClemore
    Porter
    Burke
    Oladipo

This only assumes this scenario and that we keep the pick to use at #6.

Edit: I know there may not be an official consensus, but it has been the majority opinion of the board that if we weren't in the top 5 that these would be the worst case (and highly probable) scenario for us- hence the question/poll.

Is there a consensus 5? I just looked at 2 different mocks and their top 5's are different.

One had Bennett #3 and the other had him #9.

I disagree with that consensus. I think it goes:
    Cavs - Noel
    Magic - McLemore
    Wiz - Porter
    Bees - Bennett
    Suns - Oladipo
    Pels - No idea

The Hornets won't take Burke with Kemba on the team.

In that scenario I'd take Bennett, can't he play 3?

  6. #6
I would take Shabazz Muhammad in this case. We need that scoring threat off of the bench who can play 25 mpg.

I see what you did there.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

Well, the consensus on this board is that the five that annoy people to be gone are the ones I listed.

The Hornets won't be selecting until 2014 at the very least.

IMO Anthony Bennett will be best player available when we pick, but since we have AD and RYNO we are more likely to go with Shabazz

I know he's hated on this board for some reason, but I think Len would be a perfect fit next to Davis and Anderson. That's my pick.

This. There is no consensus. But those are three players everybody wants(Porter,Burke,Dipo) and the two players most likely to go number one(Noel, McClemore). I would be fine with Len or Bennett though I'm sure I'm in the minority on that.

    Don't think Burke is a consensus 5

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

NBA Chad Ford announcing mock draft now on ESPN

    Chad Ford top 5

    1. Noel ( Cavs)

    2. Burke (Magic)

    3. Porter (Wizards)

    4. McLemore (BobCats)

    5. Oladipo (Suns)

    Thoughts?

Note: ESPN only gave his top 5. I think you have to be an insider to get the rest.

    I'd go with Bazz.

    Ford had us taking Len.

I'm leaning towards Bazz in that particular scenario, followed closely by Zeller and Len (in that order).

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

Yes. He reminds me of a Shawn Marion level player, could fill in for Davis to give him a breather at PF (or if they slide him to C in situations) while logging a majority of minutes at SF. He doesn't have Marion's defense but I think the scoring and rebounding with the two will be similar. And yes I am talking Marion in his Phoenix days.

Convince the Hornets to take it.

Here's one trade I'd like: Gordon + 6th for MKG + S&T Henderson (10/3, final year partially or fully unguaranteed).

Gives us an additional nine million in cap space to play with. We'll have enough cap space to sign a maximum. We can go with CP3 or we can go with someone like Pek. If Rivers/MKG/Davis can get at or near their ceilings, we'll have a good chance of becoming a contender in the mold Monty wants (defense, defense, defense).

Why can't Bennet Play the SF position..
His the right height, and has a great body for this position and he can shoot, dribble and create shots i don't understand why the hell is he a PF?

He's the right height but he's too bulky to be a SF, likely. He'd have trouble defending quicker perimeter players.
