Pelicans - Clippers - Blazers Trade? What do you think?

Pelicans get: Eric Bledsoe, Nicolas Batum, Blazers 2013 1st rounder (10th pick)
Blazers get: Deandre Jordan, Brian Roberts, Pelicans 2013 1st rounder (5th pick)
Clippers get: Ryan Anderson, Greivis Vasquez

Would you do it? Of course i'd rather give up lopez than ryno but dont think the clippers would do it then, but maybe.

I dont think the Clippers would do it. Im meh on the Blazers willing to do it, they just signed Batum last offseason to a big deal so they're obviously very high on him. Would I personally do it? Yeah probably, losing Anderson would suck but Smith can get his minutes.

So the blazers would trade batum for deandre jordan and to move up 5 spots in the most horrible draft in recent memory?

    Ya, keep dreaming

As a Pelicans fan I make the trade. I'm not sure if the other teams would do it though.

Here's some other fans' thoughts on the trade where it was originally asked:

And why is that? Are you basing that on anything?

OH! I thought the trade did include Gordon. Must've saw Bledsoe's name and forgot he was named Eric too.

Yeah. Not liking it so much now.

Not sure about the salary specifics, but I would bet the Clips would prefer RoLo instead of Ryno. They can exercise his contract option, only owe him 500k, and then have more space to go after Howard. Not sure the Blazers do it though. Jordan, on that contract at least, is an awful deal just to move up 5 spots in the draft. I would jump on it in a heartbeat though.

Not sure why Portland would trade Batum for DeAndre Jordan and(potentially as of now) 5 spots in a draft many front office people have their doubts about.

This trade addresses our two biggest weaknesses (PG and SF) and lets us keep a guy who at worst is only the second best player on the team (EG10)... but you'd pass on it anyway?

No way in hell I get rid of Ryan Anderson unless it's for some regular All-Star. He's the only thing we've got outside of AD's development in offensive rebounding, and there's nothing Bledsoe, Batum, or a 10th pick can do to make up for a loss of 20/10 6'11'' guy who can play at the wing or down low.

I came across this website after reading Clippers forums and they're all but convinced Lopez will be on their roster next year. He's apparently the answer to all of their problems on and off the court. Lopez is a redundancy for us and actually has some value to other teams.

I've seen far stranger trades get completed anyway. I mean everyone swore the Magic would get a mint for Howard like Denver got for Melo.

    Sometimes things break odd ways.

How much of an upgrade would it be though? You'd trade two guys who produced for you last year for the potential that Bledsoe is an upgrade over a guy who averaged 9 assists this past year and was in the running for Most Improved. I don't get the fascination with Bledsoe.

As far as Gordon, if we need to upgrade, we need to find a SG who's not injured half the year and comes close to justifying his huge contract.

The problem is Portland just re-signed Batum so they aren't in a position where they have to trade him. Also the Magic situation is an example of what can happen when you wait till the last minute to trade a player.

Yeah all things considered Gordon should be the main target to move. However I'm perfectly fine with trading both Vasquez and Anderson if it could fix some of the many glaring holes on this team.

An object lesson that I hope Pelicans brass is well aware of.

Some of you act like we couldn't still move Gordon after this deal. I think this trade is clearly in our favor and then we could look at trading Lopez and Gordon for some other long-term assets.

The question is why would Portland do this deal? Unless we get a top 3 pick and even then I don't know if the Blazers would be interested.

For us this is a homerun! Now we only have to focus on the C position. And there are guys like Adams who we could reach on with our pick.
