^^ my thought process if that is how the draft order falls.
Of course it's a lot of ifs, but every idea has em.

cant wait til we find out the draft order, will make things a lot easier
I don't think Noel being there at the 5th pick is out of the question. The guy is coming off of major knee surgery. If he isn't on an acceptable time table for a full recovery I'm not sure how any GM can take him top 3.
Yeah he's a risky option, I guess this year's Drummond.
Whoever drafts Noel isnt going to be drafting him for year 1 production, itll be for his potential. I can fully see him going #1.

The question than becomes is he going to recover fully at all. Imagine being the GM that drafted a guy with a major knee injury if this draft class blossom and he is never back to what he was. If he is on track for a full recovery there's a good chance it doesn't stop them. However if he starts hitting some bumps in the road I could see GM's in the top 3 backing off.
It would be in charlotte's best interest to draft Noel. They would be assured a top pick next year in a heavy draft, and Noel has the most potential in this draft. Win-win
I'd love to pair AD with Noel. I still think he has more potential than anyone else in this draft class, so I expect him to go #1.
The good news is we will be landing either noel mclemore smart burke oladipo or porter. I'm happy!
I hope the Pelicans do draft him. They could be the Pelicans first hall of famers.
I am pretty sure you are being facetious, but I also know that quite a few do believe in lottery tampering....with that said, and if true, I feel it would hurt much more than help us this year....and with that said, and its legit, Lord knows the questions that would arise if we happened to win it all again....as for me, lets get lucky and cope with the speculation....
"we might make dollars, but we don't necessarily make sense"
"always be sincere....whether you mean it or not"
There's a reason this board goes back and forth on who the Hornets should take should they be lucky enough to move up to #1 this year... there's no clear #1. Smart has a terrible FG%, McLemore is really a sophomore (which downplays his special "freshman" season) and disappears at times during games when he should dominate, and Noel is very raw and is limited offensively... and also coming off an torn ACL.
If Noel ends up being that clear #1 guy on most teams boards and the Hornets are lucky enough to get that #1 pick in the lottery... I might rather see them draft Noel only to turn around and trade him. Get an extra pick somewhere in this draft or the next, and also get the guy you truly want but at a cheaper salary than the #1 pick.
Cody Zeller is going to be a good player. Probably not elite... but certainly a legitimate starter. I don't think expecting him to be at the level of David West is out of the question. He and Davis would beat everyone down the floor on every possession as well. He'd play PF next to Davis in a couple years.
If the Hornets fell back to #6 or 7 in the draft after the lottery and he is the best available, then they need to take him.
