Thread: Should We Give Hugo A Send-Off On April 14th?

Should We Give Hugo A Send-Off On April 14th? (edit: the good bye video added to OP)

With now less than 2 months left in the season, what good ways can we come up with to give Hugo a send-off at the FANtastic FANale? the last home game is April 14th against the Mavericks

should we "kill" him off... Hollywood South-style?

    traditional jazz funeral?

voodoo priestess does some kind of spell and all of a sudden Hugo turns into a Pelican?

or just left him be the last one off the floor to the admiration of those in the Arena?

    what sayeth you?

edit: bumped this thread from February since we are now less than 24 hours away from the final Hornets home game ever... how would you guys and gals like to see the team retire Hugo?

edited again: here's the goodbye video for Hugo played at the game

"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin

I wish he would stay as a second mascot.

Like a send off as in a cake, or a send off as in a hive full of extended middle fingers and boos?
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

If the last home half-time entertainment is Quick Change, they can change Hugo into the Pelican.

Make a Pelican eat him and spit him out on a picture of map with Charlotte highlighted

My buddy recommended the spell one weeks ago. I still think the jerseys should be unveiled at halftime of the finale.

Bugspray anyone? But seriously what about a second line where maybe Hugo can lead it as the hornets say bye and fade into the distance....*sigh*

Well considering Charlotte want's him back, let's just wave bye and let him go back to his home.

He goes into a cocoon and comes out a pelican. Or! He is the loveable sidekick/father figure of our new mascot.

The song in that video is "Home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes.

    I think that's a hint.

I hear ya. Filming from courtside as the fans (and Tom Benson) gave him a standing ovation during the game was actually kinda touching haha

that fact was not lost on me... but we shall see if Charlotte takes it back

thing that I notice in the video is some of the events in the pre-Katrina days... seeing the old court design (the Hornet at mid-court and "stinger H" inside the 3 pt arc... Hugo was certainly the character... hopefully the same person/people behind Hugo stay w/ the new Pelicans mascot and make him just as lovable/enjoyable as Hugo

I really wanted to be there tonight... and if I had gone I probably wouldn't have made it through the video/ovation for Hugo
