    Draft Hornets & The Lottery

As of the 1st of April…..it is looking like they may finish with the 8th worst record.

The problem is that it could be a 3 way tie for 7th with the Kings and Raptors.
However they beat the Kings twice out of 3 games and luckily they have lost to the Raptors twice.
They can only afford to win one or two more games or they may finish too high (out of the top 6).
I think they will win against the Mavs as it will be their last home game as the HORNETS.

This is how it may likely pan out:

    BOBCATS (WORST)
    MAGIC (2ND WORST)

The way Washington has been playing with John Wall... I don't think they lose every game down the stretch.

With that said, I have a feeling the Hornets will fall down another spot... maybe two, before the end of the season. Best guess right now IMO is that they'll finish with the 7th pick. It's crazy though that OKC is about to finish with a similar pick because of Toronto... but at least it's top 4 protected.

I thought this too but I just can't see where they win a game.
Obviously there are going to be upsets, but on form and standings all those teams should beat Washington.

Still sucks that OKC will get a better pick than we did with our/Minny pick last year.
Do you think they will trade some of their rookies from last year or sell this one to clear cap space?

Someone created a different thread a week or so ago that brought up a good point that OKC could try to trade away Perkins this offseason and by doing so they would probably have to give up this pick for someone to take on that contract. OKC basically did the same thing a few years ago but in reverse... they took on Kurt Thomas's contract for two first round picks (and then traded him for another first round pick) - those picks ended up being Serge Ibaka, Byron Mullens, and Cole Aldrich.

On the other hand... the way OKC has built their team through the draft, I could easily see them just using this pick and trying to figure out something later with Perkins' contract. Having several players on your roster that are in their rookie deals is never a bad thing... because it's really the only thing that keeps you from going over the cap.
