Because we are 5-18. We don't have any star players, and we have no chance at the playoffs this year and possibly next(I think we should be a playoff team next year).

I'm guessing Monty drew up a play for the three but when Rivers/whoever couldn't get open, Davis just threw it up.

There's this stupid tendency for people you ask to say "This is a football town." Like that's some official title that precludes going to basketball games too. It won't change for another generation or so with the team staying here. Kids love basketball, but they need time to get older and have kids of their own to love basketball before it truly starts to take.

Greivis rushed the first play. gotta run it down so worst case they cant get a good look... especially with the foul to give

Hoping for foul and-1. You can't catch and shoot in .3 seconds. It's a touch shot. Lance didn't even catch the ball, he just tipped the ball in. lol

Right. I want all the people who regurgitated that small school argument over and over again to come back and eat crow.

Portland always has great crowds, though.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

Whatever play we drew up, the lob to Thomas was all we could get. Oh well. Suck it up. Played our hearts out but lost. Davis took his lumps, but in what you might call a bad game, he still put up numbers.

He's gonna be just fine. Better than fine, really.

Ehh those million turnovers we had early came back to haunt us. This is the effort i want to see though that was a good comeback by a young team.

hornets 1-point loss, less than a minute after Tom Brady keeps his TD streak alive in the 4th.

    I see it's still 2012.

Lillard pretty much ROY this year. Only way anybody else can win it is if Lillard gets hurt.

Monty had wrong personnel on defense at the end. He needed more athleticism.

Will it last that long if everything stays status quo?

He went under the screen and he's slow. But, nothing you can do with that Lillard shot.

If only we had a closer somewhere on our roster. If only...

This. I think it was when Derek Fisher hit the game winning 3 a few years back that they established .4 seconds is the least amount of time that can be on the clock for a shot. basically anything less and you can only touch it briefly

Davis having more games like he did against the Bucks, Spurs, and Bobcats would give him the nod over Lillard. But he'd need to have those games frequently and Lillard's game is far more matured, so he's just built to come in and score right away.

I only needed to watch ONE Weber State game to know Lillard was gonna be a pain in our asses if we didn't draft him. Dude has "It." Point blank.

I think the "IT" factor is a turtle face.

    Just like Westbrook's Turtle face.

No he didn't, as soon as Babbitt set the screen Vasquez just stood there and watched. Didn't attempt to go under, over, or through it.

He shouldn't have taken it in the first place, then he starts it with 12 seconds still on the clock. Then, goes under a screen so Lillard has space to throw one up.

Our 2nd unit PG problem is solved though.

What I'm saying is sort of in a time stable, vacuum, disregarding the level of team play.

If Davis' game matures faster than expected, we hit our next draft in a big way and get either more of our Gordon, which is basically ANYTHING out of Gordon, thereby turning the team into contenders, it'd speed it up considerably. And we'd have more sellouts. When we were competitive during the CP3 years, we would have some raucous crowds.

Rewatch it. He went under then switched on Babbitt and forced Anderson to put a hand up on Lillard.
