That's what I thought. I don't even think Fartman lives in the U.S. while bigdub said he has a club in New Orleans.

Yup, he's from Europe, Germany I think. He's very talented I wonder if he ever did some jersey concepts?

I have some friends at the TP and they say the name Crusaders is being considered? Anyone else hear this?
It's that the Hornets unashamedly quit so quickly in Game 4 after fans in New Orleans showed up this season with greater regularity than the team could have ever dreamed, shaming misinformed know-it-alls like me who kept telling you that local residents couldn't possibly invest their time and money into something as trivial as rooting for the local basketball team while still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. - Mark Stien ESPN

Accurate, along with the wallpaper stuff. Not bigdub.

    Nope. Interesting.

Inspired by http://www.brothermartin.com/athletics/ I would imagine.

Benson went to one of the to one of the two predecessors of Brother Martin, too.

Seems kinda folksy, and now sure how it's more "New Orleans." It's not like it has to be "New Orleans;" it just has to be what Benson wants that the NBA can tolerate.

My guess is that Al-Farouq Aminu wouldn't be too thrilled about that.

what's the short-hand nickname for Crusaders? Saders?

Also I don't hate it, but at the same time... always thought it was an odd choice for Brother Martin, considering The Crusades aren't exactly something that Christians should be proud of.

Amazingly, the Crusades have often been remembered in a romantic fashion, but perhaps nothing has deserved it less. Hardly a noble quest in foreign lands, the Crusades represented the worst in religion generally and in Christianity specifically.

    Cru, aka Krewe? Mind blown.

Though I like Pelicans, someone brought up the sad but true fact that three syllable team names generally don't work very well. Pels?

Though I could see how they could market "Be a part of the Cru." for Crusaders.

great point... like Timberwolves are coined down to Wolves or T-Wolves, and we already have the three syllable city name. P-Cans? No thanks.

Since this thread is about team/uniform colors, which colors would you suggest? Muddy water green and black? Or how about algae green and moss gray?

Camouflage unis should settle that then. We can just steal from the Raptors.

I'm currently a student at Brother Martin, and the name Crusaders works very well with the school. Lots of puns. Our colors are Crimson and Gold (red) and it just looks great. Also, Benson just recently donated $10 million to us.
