So can the NBA flat out deny the colors that Benson wants to use or do they have to meet down the middle? Can the league suggest the colors that they would prefer?
The NBA approves things. I'm sure they can suggest things and detail their issues with whatever is veing denied.

I've been hoping for just black and gold. Pittsburgh has the same colors for Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins and it's worked there having teams with same colors. Red, blue, and gold just feels so lazy to me. Tooooo many have combinations of red, blue, and yellow/gold, that it reads too me too much of "we couldn't actually decide on anything, so we just threw them all together."
There won't be an idea that universally is accepted. Someone will call Krewe stupid beyond belief, others, like me, think it's awesome and a perfect name for the most unique city in the USA. But whatever.
Split the difference. Could you grow to not care? Do you rather the design than some others you've seen? And so on, it'll balance out.

Maybe there's a lesson to be learnt from Mr Gilmore...
No idea if that link works, I'm on my mobile. Anyway, you see where I'm going with it.
What happened to BigDub? Most of his concepts are missing and I haven't seen him post. did he get a job with the team? I think I remember reading something about him.
Red, Blue, Gold and Black are so common in the NBA- I really hope they don't end up duplicating other teams' colour schemes..

There are 30 teams. Everything has kinda been done.
I mean they could pull like an Oregon Ducks and roll out in highlighter yellow, gray, and platinum pants people will still hate. (and perhaps rightly so)
No one will agree at first. At some point everyone will stop caring and accept it. As the world turns in the life of a fan.
There's a difference between gold hues. Saints and LSU both have gold, but you'll NEVER confuse the two on sight.
I imagine when Benson brings up gold, he wants actual metallic gold color, not just yellow like the Lakers.
