It's true enough, but it doesn't apply here.

you callin me dumb?! jk, i know you aren't but i was just thinking that on a subconscious level it might feel strange to order them any other way (especially if she herself had as much to do with the color picking as we were led to believe) and i know these brands are already established but you wouldn't say that "the saints colors are gold and black" or "USA's colors are blue, red and white". i mean you might, but it would seem a little strange, knah wha ima sayin?

Why is black the Saints' primary color?

Really? What makes it primary? Why is it more primary than the gold?

This seems like something that is being made of more import than it calls for.

    I don't think it's true enough.

Red is the primary color of the USA?

From the get-go the word has been, unofficially, that we could rebrand this coming offseason. We shall see, and clearly they are gunning for it.
    You're on to something...good find

John Mecom... the Saints first owner was an oil man

    oil = black gold

    hence... black & gold

    then there's this...

    Jeff Duncan ‏@JeffDuncanTP
Just to clarify an earlier tweet, the NBA has final approval on nay and all Hornets colors & name changes. That process has not begun.

This is true but still doesn't prove black is the primary.
In my opinion black IS the primary color but i have no way of proving such.
I also think the hypothesis of subconsciously listing the colors in order of significance has some merit.
It could also mean absolutely nothing. Just like this post.

Also, its the same mascot as the University of the Incarnate Word which is a private college in San Antonio which the Bensons are heavily involved.

I'm going to optometry school at Incarnate Word right now! Didn't realize Benson was even a donor until I saw their stadium: The Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium and Fieldhouse. Miss home and going to Hornets games, but it's nice to see at least one familiar name around here. By the way, I can dig those colors!

Sorry but I hate these colors.

Almost every team in the league uses Navy, and lots of them use Red. The sad thing is that there are quite a few that already use both.

So long for a unique color combination like we had, and the one we might have had.

Sad day because I'll love the team no matter what, but dude, colors are important.

Should have been just gold and black or black, red, and purple. Not enthusiastic at all about navy. Reminds me of the Cavaliers

I'd love for us the fans to sign a petition so we could get Purple, Green and Gold. Or whatever combination we agree the most on.
