If there was any member of the New Orleans Hornets who was unhappy to see a five-day break between games, it had to be backup point guard Brian Roberts. Roberts, a 26-year-old rookie who spent the last three seasons playing in Bamberg, Germany, experienced the best night of his brief NBA career in the Hornets' 107-99 win over the Charlotte Bobcats last Friday night, contributing 16 points in 30 minutes, hitting 7 of 8 shots from the field, dishing eight assists and turning the ball over just once.
But Roberts doesn't get a chance to build on that performance until Wednesday night when the Hornets meet the Houston Rockets in the Toyota Center.
In the meantime, he has spent the last couple of days preparing in practice, hoping to continue an upward tick.
"It was a good night and I'm looking forward to Wednesday night and getting back out there," Roberts said Monday after the Hornets workout at the Alario Center. "I've just been going hard in practice, trying to get better and not be satisfied with just one game.
