I think playing the extra 2 (play-in) games and not having Zion available (again) is starting to show on the court.
Maybe they can win one at home but I just see them winning both games.

Well this got ugly quick! Zion returning is our only hope now.

Haha. BI would have picked up three offensive fouls on that last OKC sequence.
    Good positive energy.

    But also, yo mama's fat.

The difference so far has been entirely on 3pters, not FTs, so as frustrating as the fouls and non-calls are they aren't what's losing this game. OKC is up 18 and they've hit precisely 6 more 3s than us. That is literally the distinction.

Obviously the foul calls aren't helping but this is OKC, SGA has been grifting all season and we saw in game 1 that they weren't going to call stuff for us. Team can't act surprised whn it happens again in game two, you just have to show up.

So far, they're not showing up. Trey and CJ can't 3s, BI won't even try them.
    Basketball.

The problem with 'starting to settle in' when you're already down 13 is that just playing them even is a blowout loss. Now you have to blow them out, and in only 3 quarters instead of 4, just to tie.

    Classic curse.

At least some people started to wake up a little towards the end of the half. Herb, Trey, hitting some shots.

If Ingram decides to do anything at all in the second half we might have some luck.

Ingram remains the issue imo. He is supposed to be our best player on the floor and is just not showing up. 4 points in 17 minutes, and a whopping -17 on the plus minus

Refs have a part to play in that, they get away with murdering him and he gets physical in response and gets called for bs calls. Either call ticky tack calls or swallow the damn whistle

Ingram has shown up. There's a guy on the floor that has essentially locked him up. I don't see a difference in his effort level.

Dude always looks like he smoked a blunt before the game but tonight he's playing like he did too.

Inactive on offense, getting cooked on defense. Not creating anything, not taking 3s, and when he's not shooting he's not moving much off ball, not screening, nothing. Looks like he doesn't even want to be there.

He's not supposed to be getting locked up. He is supposed to be skilled enough to score more than 4 points in 17 minutes.

    You're not being rational.

News flash MVP.. Players get locked up. That's what we're seeing. That, in addition to being in foul trouble has decreased his aggression. One could even argue that Dwort/OKC has broken him.

Now.. You can argue, that you don't pay a guy 50M a year that can be shut down the way he has. And I wouldn't protest. He could at least funnel his energy and aggression into other aspects of gameplay since he's having trouble scoring. That's what I don't like.

The entire sales pitch for BI for years has been ''you're gonna need tough shot making like his in the playoffs''

Now we're getting told it's not his fault that he can't make anything happen, he's getting locked up.

What happened to the tough shot making, man? In the playoffs, even.
