Thread: Rumor: Pels interested in trading for Otto Porter

    I got the trade, ya'll. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y864jnvx

    Pels get: Bazemore, Crowder, Dedmon

Pels send: Hill, Mirotic, Wes J., Diallo

    ATL gets: Hill, Burks, Diallo

ATL sends: Bazemore, Dedmon, J. Anderson

    UTA gets: Mirotic, J. Anderson

    UTA sends: Crowder, Burks

Pels add 3 solid contributors with skillsets Pels need, while keeping their 1st (ATL may require a 2nd rounder). Bazemore adds another ball-handler/ playmaker and a plus athletic defender on the wing, decent enough shooter. Crowder adds a tough-nosed defender with a strong frame, who's shot could return one day. He could start at SF or solidly backup both forward spots, what Solomon Hill was supposed to be but Crowder's on an affordable contract this year and next. Dedmon offers defense, shot-blocking and finishing off the bench, helping AD guard up the occasional big C's like Embid. Pels keep their 1st as a further asset down the line.

    AD / Dedmon
    Randle / Crowder
    Bazemore/ Miller
    Jrue / Moore/ Clark
    Payton / Frank J.

ATL saves about 6 mil. next season from the difference in Hill and Bazemore's salary, and Burks fits in as a decent young SG to take a flyer on, who's on an expiring contract. They replace Dedmon's skill-set with the younger, potential-ladden Diallo. It's possible ATL could want a 2nd round pick for being saddled with Hill's contract, but the savings and helping the tank should be sufficient.

    Len / Diallo / Plumlee
    Collins/ Spellman/ Hill
    Prince / Bembry / Vince
    Burks / Huerter
    Young / Lin

Utah makes a trade to shake things up, adding Mitotic's 'stretch-4' skill-set alongside Gobert. They're already paying Favors a lot this year, too, so Favors could be re-routing somewhere like the Lakers, or they could keep all three big men. They could re-sign Mirotic with bird rights or move on to clear up even more cap space in the offseason. It's possible they value Crowder's defensive versatility and good contract more, but it was rumored Jazz were interested in Mirotic last trade deadline and it could still be the case.

    Gobert / Udoh
    Mirotic / Favors
    Ingles / O’Neale/ Thabo
    Mitchell / Allen / J. Anderson
    Rubio / Exum / Neto

Teams are smarter now. They won't just spend money to spend it and if they do, they will be doing it with one or two year contracts unless the guy is already on their team and Bird Rights allow them to go over. Moving forward, only the elite players or players who have the potential to be elite will be signed to massive long term deals. And Randle is neither of those things. He is an undersized big who can't shoot well in a league that values shooting.

He only fits and can finish game next to a hand full of guys. AD is one of those. You will see.... He ain't getting those offers you seem to think he will get
So Answer the question : who is better Niko or Randle and what do you think Niko will get this off season? And if Randle is an undersized big who can't shoot why would we want him?

Again... if Randle isn't worth a 4yr/80m offer why would we promise him that with a wink wink deal? If he only fits with AD why would we promise him a long term big deal before locking up AD? Why would we risk a player we can guarantee to keep for a guy who no other teams are going to offer a big deal go? If he isn't going to get big offers why wouldn't we also keep Niko?

Whatever trade we make, I hope that Dell knows this next trade will either make or break our franchise...Only because he should know AD's willingness to demand a trade is on a very very short leash.
