Okay so wow, what a win last game. Unfortunately, despite every logging heavy minutes, we don't get any time off: straight on to the next one, and this time it's the Denver Nuggets.
Denver are a good team so far this year, there's no real question about it. With the league's 6th best offensive rating, 4th best defensive rating, and a 10-5 record, they've been really showing up. What's important to note though, is that they have been worse recently, dropping 4 of their last five. There are a few reasons for this, one being that Jokic has fallen off a little. Not a ton, and he's still playing well, but after averaging 23ppg through their first five, he's only averaged 14ppg since. His passing has remained consistent, but his turnovers have gone up recently and his rebounding has dropped slightly too.
Still, they are not a team to be taken lightly: 5th in offensive rebounds, 7th in assists, 5th in steals, 9th in FG%, and with the league's 3rd best defensive rebounding %, they are executing well all over the floor. And with the turnover problems we've been having, playing teams so effective at stealing the ball is always intimidating.
The good news: We've won 4 of our last 5, even if it doesn't feel that way at times. Against the Knicks last game, the Pels made their 3rd largest comeback in franchise history, showcasing that vital grit and intensity towards the end of the game.
I know that the guys will be exhausted after that huge game last night, but if we can secure this win tonight it gives us a vital tie in the season series with Denver, as well as bumping us up to 2 games over .500 for the first time in a while. Hopefully AD, Jrue, Moore, and Randle have a little more in the tank, and hopefully Niko finally finds his shooting stroke again. We might need it.
Let's go out and get this win! #DoItBig
